andy meecham is a man of many musical incarnations and has been since the early 90s. following on from projects like the now dormant bizarre inc and revived dub-disco duo chicken lips, it is as the emperor machine that he explores his most experimental sounds. to date there have been three full length albums on dc recordings after the project was initially started with the idea of creating music using just one synth, the roland sh-3a. the results lay out the staffordshire mans love of vintage synthesisers for all to see, and combine tough edged disco beats with more cerebral cosmic melodies into alluring soundscapes that bend your mind and drive your feet. as well as a slew of 12s and lps, the emperor machine has also turned his hand to remixes of giants like moby, daft punk and royksopp, and has previously taken a live and inspiringly psychedelic incarnation of the project to clubs and festivals across the planet.

nice price deal !!! after ugur projects great success on subotnik, the ostwind guys presents another 2 track 10inch weapon from this sympatic turk based in istanbul. diren & gezi are two tracks made for the dj and the crowd. diren comes with his deep moving bass and nice minimalistic clicking heads which reminds us on the up to date mini tech sound. the hook of gezi speeks for itself, combined with a forward going groove, this track was made to rock! a great new spezi, without many rethoric, just to the point.

love fever, the infamous and erogenous east london discotheque and record label returns with some late night works in the form of ron jason and kim ann foxman s the dream project ep . after ron jason s paradise garage evoking and much played paradise lost (with love fever regular larry heard remixes) caught the ear of label bosses alex & andy last year with its depth and sincerity, ron was tracked down, discovered as italy s enigma simoncino and connected with brooklyn s fly girl and modernist diva kim ann foxman to explore possibilities in house.

born in chicago and raised on detroits west side, delano smith represents one of the last of a rare group of detroits first house dj s & protege of detroit-original deejay ken collier, this is the eighties legend back in fine style. recording for labels like third ear & his own mixmode imprint smith has carved a deep house groove for many years, here he teams up with long time friend derwin hall for the smith hall project and picked up for the excellent kolour recordings offshoot undertones hailing from houston texas but based in detroit this is the second release from ut and doesn t fail to deliver with some serious pedigree. one not to miss!!

as we are beset by the darkest of seasons, let sequencias provide a score to fit the mood. presented in two parts, *hybrid furrows* marks the second transmission of the mysterious healing force project from treviso, italy. the first part is a dense, introspective overture. a ceaseless minor key drone lays the path for deep thrumming gong-like pulse and shuddering percussive textures. a song without a coda, a dream without resolution, it simply dissipates like fog—never revealing it’s center. the second part is similarly monolithic in nature, but crafted more for movement than meditation. it is vicious arpeggiated psychedelia, sharp enough to cut into the deepest recesses of your psyche. both tracks were recorded live in one take. vinyl only.

the first release on project squared in a year, *make your mess* is a three track ep by melbournes craig mcwhinney. craig has been making music for years and releasing since the late 2000s on melbourne labels such as pinksilver, melbourne deepcast and his own haul music, also on labels based further afield such as brendon moellers steadfast and speedy js electric deluxe. craigs music is techno, but it isnt preoccupied with the 4/4, employing broken, swung and rolling drum patterns. his tracks often include melodic and harmonic elements and effects reminiscent of dub techno but without conforming to the pastiche template of the sub-genre. the make your mess ep is composed of the core title track and two additional tracks that arose as interpretations and variations on the initial production: *provocation is an excuse* is more furious and loud, *disengage* is more restrained. all three are around 125 bpm and were produced in the space of a month between september and october 2012.

with this third release we have returned to the structure of our first release together to bring you too wicked examples of his original take on house with a final track to send you on your way bathed in psychedelic sunshine vibes. how leon manages to combine ruff edges with smooth vibes is a talent in itself.

distorting former interpretations from the late unchained rhythms series propelling the primitive released >eno< into an entirely new dimension, resulting in what joaquin describes as a mind-fuck battle between himself and himself.

mark es collaborative project e series continues with the follow up to the excellent megacity ep. on this 12, mark teams up with keyboardist nat woodcock & vocalist greg bird to piece together another excellent ep, combining the influences from both producers ranging through 80s synth pop, classical avant garde, italo disco & detroit techno. a departure from previous merc releases which have relied on sample heavy driven deep house, project e holds tight to the deep house direction but takes it into distinctive cosmic territory.
