king ghazi is shadi khries and gilbert cohen. recorded in amman / may 2014. all the music presented here is original, and has been recorded in jordan in may 2014. this project was born when i met shadi in paris, at the percussion recording sessions for acid arab. from these sessions came the idea of&#8203,,,,,exploring local music styles on the verge of disappearing, in jordan and elsewhere in the middle east. it was also an opportunity for me to meet exceptional people and wonderful artists. for 15 days, we travelled through jordan, recording local musicians. here we hear osama al khairat aka abu sayah, an exiled syrian musician who plays the yarghoul (two flutes linked together by beeswax. one plays a drone, the other the corresponding range, all while blowing continuously). i want to specially thank shermine sawalha for allowing us to record in the living room of her parents house, as well as for coordinating the whole project. without her energy and patience, this record would not be in your hands today.

the crate-digging credentials of psychemagik�s danny mclewin are well established. even so, he�s excelled himself with the first release on spacetalk, a joint venture with leng records� simon purnell and paul murphy.

manchester s very own mr scruff and nyc crate digger ge-ology remix moscow s lay-far! now that s what we call a truly international release. it s kind of a dream release for us at local talk as both scruff and ge-ology have been on our we wanna get them on local talk plastic list for quite some time. starting off we find scruff going for a slight disco(ish) rub where analogue synths bumps around with a dark but musical basement feel...but still jazzy! on the flip our man ge-ology who is riding high on the hype from his release on theo parrish s sound signature label goes on a deep and spaced out electronic house venture that is so edgy it hurts. its that good good shit basically...enjoy!

stamp records delve into the past for their next release, giving a new lease of life to one of swayzak s least characteristic and most sought-after tracks. swayzak are true heroes of the uk underground, having clocked numerous seminal releases in the late 90 s and early 00 s straddling the grey area between house and techno. disco dub plate volume 2 - originally out in 2000 - was an obvious anomaly in the duo s discography, that has managed to forge a path of its own amongst a completely different crowd to swayzak s usual disciples. one cut from that ep, stronger love , is a carefully arranged marriage between a certain pair of quintessential aor darlings and the soul voice of the 80 s. can we be more specific? no can do...it shouldn t really work, but somehow it does! it s been caned by many a balearic dj over the years, including mark seven who included it in his mythical originals compilation, where it holds its ground amongst other balearic heavyweights. as an added bonus for this 2016 edition we re treated to two brand new mixes ! frank agrario teases in bits of the original making for his chunkier version that is aimed squarely at the dancefloor, while brun (1/2 of swayzak) delivers a bang up-to-date dub that keeps its elements to the bare minimum, building into a deep hypnotic house chugger.

jun kamoda is a producer, dj and mc from tokyo. new to the label but a friend of the party, jun came to mister sunday in nyc last year and ended up hanging around for a few days afterward, digging for records and sharing bowls of spaghetti with the boys. when he returned to japan, he got to working on the music we now present to you on the clay ep. this is jun blending loopy, psychedelic disco stylings with chugging drum work for three party-ready cuts. they�ve been chopping up our dance floors months, we�re excited to hear them do the same to yours.

2015 saw damian lazarus create his most ambitious project to date in the ancient moons, producing a full-length album message from the other side co-produced by james ford (simian mobile disco, arctic monkeys, florence & the machine), with a wide assortment of vocalists and collaborators from around the world. they went on to support roisin murphy on tour, gain wide acclaim from the likes and lazarus became the final cover-star of the year in the uks mixmag magazine. now the tracks from message the other side have been reinterpreted by an assortment of producers for a remix album. three of these remixes will be released as an ep entitled remixes from the other side (part i), featuring remixes from red axes, acid pauli and mehmet asian. the second remix ep will following in a few weeks.

stuttgarts motor city drum ensemble (aka danillo plessow aka inverse cinematics),presents a superb ep of deep house taking its cues from berlin and detroit. 2008 was a great year for motor city drum ensemble releasing parts one and two of the highly acclaimed raw cuts series which featured heavily in many best of 2008 house music charts. he finished the year with an excellent resident advisor podcast and a set at the resident advisor christmas party. his �get slapped up� release on compost black and �breath control� release on his own four roses label have been in the boxes of taste maker djs and seen him become an in demand producer. danillo is also a part of the inverse cinematics production team who have released on pulver, fuid ounce showcasing his more jazzy, broken beat production style. this debut 2020 release features three superb tracks that take their inspiration from the likes of theo parrish and carl craig as well as the deep house sound of berlin, yet retain the signature mcde sound.
