april showers bring may flowers, but this april claude vonstroke brings you the rain break. inspired by two different songs from the 80s - (razes classic break for love and oran juice jones the rain), claude has replayed and re-sung all the music from scratch to make a special cover tune of both tracks changed and combined into a surefire dirtybird classic. to quote vonstroke, i kept singing the break for love bassline over and over again in my head but the vocal that always popped in over the top was from the oran juice jones. i cant explain why that happened but i just thought they went together so well that i ran with it.here comes the b is a much weirder affair. built with massive psychedelic effects, a huge kick and almost no hi-hat pattern, this is late night cavemen music at its best. this big release from cvs will have you wishing for a downpour so you can go walking in the rain.

ts10 is the 1st ep of the toneseries project. born from the collaboration between french music producer, live performer and dj - david k, and lumièreslanuit s co-founder and an der grenze s founder - edouard morin. however, it isn t clear which artist from their extended crew stands behind this 1st release, as if the berlin-based music label wanted to focus on the music rather on the artist. ts10 consists of two tracks, both deep and groovy. whereas ailleurs disseminates the perfect warm-up groove, desert snowflakes fires off a more dancefloor-driven vibe. with regard to the artwork, as shown on the cover, each track has its own colour. there is neither a a nor a b-side. the same applies to the record vinyl itself. each track stands on it own. as a result, ailleurs and desert snowflakes distinguish themselves from each other through their vibes and colours, although they remain in the same spirit. in summary, toneseries brings together the idea of interdependence between music and design: what colour follows on from music and, in return, which musicality comes out of colours.

lumièreslanuit is glad to welcome istanbul-based duo bärtaub (mutlu san & batuhan güler) for the 6th release of the label. as in most of the duos, each of the members has his speciality. whereas mutlu focuses primarely on the music production, batu is known by istanbuls house/techno aficionados as a restless dj. bärtaubs debut ep is called rhizome (type of plant root) not without reason. beats, melodies and bassline jump over, crawl under and draw apart from each other in unexpected and non-hierarchical ways. in the end, they all come together in a harmonious manner that creates an overall of excitingly playful forest-like atmosphere.

london modular alliance is the raw and unpredictable music project from the uk’s best known, dedicated modular synth shop london modular. its members simon lynch, phil ventre and gavin pykerman met through a shared passion in modular synthesisers. impromptu gatherings and jams soon turned into live performances at clubs, festivals and museums. from the hushed environs of the tate modern and v&a to vast sweatboxs such as fabric, bloc, freerotation, weather and berghain, london modular clearly have a flair for all things modular. this year sees a return to bloc weekender as well as new adventures at festivals such as dekmantel. they create an intense live show with a huge setup of self-assembled modular gear. every set starts with one small looping beginning – a patch – and is expanded into a deep sonic landscape. with the use of cables they build unexpected circuits and explore the power of pure electronic sounds without the use of a digital software infrastructure. no laptops, no button pushing, everything is created on the spot using modular synthesizers and is based on live improvisations. overall lma tries to keep its live sets in the dark: unrecorded, off the internet and only for those who are present in the moment. a clear break with the capture-all mentality of the internet age.

about a year ago nico stojan and acid pauli met at the studio to record some music. while doing so they discovered their common love for sample based production. so they were basically digging into old vinyls and eventually these three tracks came along. nothing more to say, but enjoy. call of the valley is the first release on the new label ouie: there has been a shift in this tiny piece of massive world and, like all other shifts, they are documented by those who were there. ouie is the label to do just that, created by the people who were there, making those shifts.

french duo from montreuil (east paris suburbs), prince waly & fiasko proximo are big budha cheez. after several eps and mixtapes, the duo will release is first lp, lheure des loups on april 22nd, 2016. at 23 years old, the duo is recording on analog tapes their daily prose and pose on film rolls their unique néo-rétro style on the french hip-hop landscape. working closely with video maker clifto cream (nekfeu, myth syzer, jazzy bazz, kohndo) with whom they systematically reconsider the current rap game codes with their music, pictures and videos. listenning lheure des loups is a time travel which perfectly illustrate an authentic and original creative process.
