new york haunted have invited some of our own favorite artists to explore the boundaries of techno as a form of communication. straight from detroit, the legendary terrence dixon represents the minimalist funk like no other in his contribution star dust. straightforward dance floor action with a truly hypnotic vibe. former yellow swan, pete swanson comes from a noise background and has been adding monolithic rhythms for some years now, his dirty work blurs these lines and shifts between harsh noise and distorted machine rhythms. cryptic techno philosopher jamal moss, aka hieroglyphic being drops an exercise in sun ra worship called speaking in tongues and label boss drvg cvltvre rounds of the ep with a combination of shortwave radio transmissions and walls of gutwrenching bass drums. often imitated, never duplicated. these are the unique voices of a techno generation.

the bush is a homage to the place where i have lived for the last decade (askew road). the askew road itself is slowly changing so i wanted to document all the places that play a big part in mine and my families lives before they eventually get sold for more flats or tescos. 002 was all about the mighty sun pub which has now been sold and transformed into a costa coffee and an estate agents. next up is our local park which hopefully will never see change as its been our little slice of heaven in w12 since we moved here.

since maxime dangles contribution to our head honcho gregor treshers breaking new soil vol. 7 early 2015 we received several fantastic new oevres from the frenchman. it wasnt easy to decide which ones to release but sian (octopus records) gave us a hand and focussed on fokal for his remix! anyway we are proud to release maximes debut ep for break new soil and are curious how you share our taste.

enemy returns with another remix package including efforts from some of our favorite producers at the moment. this collective includes the crafty and credible sound of vril, the legendary steve bicknell, and house musics latest tastemakers mr. tophat and art alfie. getting the remix treatment this time around is dustin zahns 2014 comeback release, >new day rising<. monsieur tophat and his esteemed colleague art alfie surprised us by turning in a very dark and stompy techno rendition of >lost in rapture<. it goes without saying that this one is definitely geared towards the time of the night when things get a little weird. vril follows up with an excellent take on >new day rising< by keeping the tension for nearly three minutes before the reese-like bassline drops in and causes the track to evolve into a groove that demands instant attention. steve bicknell rounds out the package with the peak-time hammer! its relentless, heady, and undoubtedly bicknell! this one has >rave< written all over it.

the *belly of the beast ep* consists of four raw cuts coming from machines for the main room, with dramatic chords, obsessive sequences and recordings from *the san fermines*. gal aner (guitar) and chris gray (voice), join them in the track *human show*, fusing electronics with pure emotion.

jack cutter is a songwriter and guitarist based in the san francisco bay area in california. he started with a $5 banjo just after finishing high school. in university, during the late 60’s, he performed with bar bands in buffalo, new york. after completing university and a year as an aerospace engineer, he decided that attack helicopters were not really what the world needed and so he headed off to california in pursuit of music and mystic times. fast forward to fall 2014: jack is playing his quintessential tune, ‘gift of our fathers’ in the sf bart subway to an onslaught of morning commuters when he was spotted by 40 thieves. eureka! love at first sight and in the next few months, two of jack’s original acoustic pieces were given the 40 thieves treatment. enter david sanderson aka david harks, a singer, songwriter, producer and label curator from the east sussex region of the uk. ‘having fallen in love with the cosmic boogie (of 40 thieves classic ‘backward love’) i really felt i would love nothing more than to write a tune with them. layne got back in touch with a track he was working on entitled serpent strut with jack cutter and we worked via email over a few months to brew up that misty soul.’ deep, stony, psychedelic, drawing from the well of hawkwind, joni mitchell, david crosby, baffo banfi and tolkien-tinged acoustic led zep, the proof of concept is now complete and in the capable and loving hands of claremont 56.

since the turn of the decade token has by and large been an exclusive platform for the music of inigo kennedy, ¥ phase and ctrls. the belgian label has, however, remained on point by putting out formidable productions by rich oddie & ancient methods eschaton project, german powerhouse r¢dhåd and spanish heavy weights oscar mulero and christian wünsch as spherical coordinates, to some intercontinental fare by xhin and go hiyama. token, an iron clad operation continuously manufacturing unyielding techno, has always, deep within its impenetrable shell, had a soft spot for british techno. and following a reissue of mark brooms two, maintaining the glacial release rate of rodz-konez legend makaton, and welcoming surgeon to its fold with the thunderous fixed action pattern 12inch, the belgian label seeks out some fresh uk blood by inviting james shaw, aka sigha, to debut on the label with a stylistically sleek and suitably booming 12inch, our father / a better way of living.

lab.our 06 features offbeat, dancefloor techno from hermans. hermans (jerry riggs dick diamonds & maxwell church) already have releases out on labels such as run out run, klasse recordings, zodiac44 & extended play, among others. a1 is sweat box rock, an epic stormer that sounds like a techno jam session with alternating beat patterns and dirty keys. b1, dustin tombtones, is an uptempo acid workout destined to move dancefloors. b2 is a remix of sweat box rock by lab.our music bosses basic soul unit and j-ul.

nicole moudaber is a name we are used to hearing on the radar as a drumcode artist and she is showing us what she can do on the funkier side of the spectrum with her new ep now landing on truesoul. both tracks merge her signature techno sound into something that still contains stacks of class and character. the evolving sounds in both tracks build tension and energy to create after hour burners.

the bunker new york is proud to announce the second ep from mehmet irdel, also known as lot.te (pronounced loat-tey), following his debut release on our label in 2014. lot.tes history of discipline ep features two distinct moods and detailed, industrial-inspired sound design with a firm focus on the dancefloor.

recorded from rudys homemade studio in hampton virginia before he cut *searching for love* on harvest records around 1983, he did this wonderful modern synth winner. with rudy just having one pass on a reel of this song, we remastered it a little at the super disco hq to give it a brighter feel. sure its pretty lo-fi but the quality of the song writing playing and melodies are more than enough to let is see the joys of a turntable. this is once again a limited press.

uwe schmidt is one of the most prolific contemporary electronic musicians of our era, with nearly 200 releases produced under a dizzying array of aliases. perhaps his most well known and celebrated project is señor coconut, of bossanova kraftwerk cover fame. we ve heard many dozens of uwes releases and consider more than a few of them to be bunker classics that are in constant rotation at both our house and on our dancefloor.

scenes from our classic future is the realization of three songs and two projects that came together as one. as young aspiring musicians since the early age of 12, greg paulus and john camp practiced playing jazz standards into the wee small hours of the morning together. eventually the two would find themselves both in new york under new and more electronic circumstances. deeply indebted to the mastery of herbie hancock, paulus and camp would reconnect, this time with synthesizers, and continue on their musical journey together.
