berliner martin dawson and polish duo catz n dogz join forces to bring us this fierce three track ep entitled no nights. the first track on this release is no nights. brimming with warm pads and an accusing, dark lo-fi synth line this version has a deep vibe to it and the ability to really get under ones skin. following this the berlin-polish team hit us with no nights (beatz mix) a catchy tech-house number with a lo-fi synth line sporadically accompanied by a melodically decending dubby synth. combined with the crisp vocal line this makes for a very promising track. no days, the last track on this release gets straight to business with distorted vocals and a menacing bassline that intertwine throughout the track. varying rhythmical flourishes keep it interesting, while tripped out synthesized sounds guarantee to get any dancefloor grooving. we couldnt be more pleased with the results of this tenacious trio and we look to the future in hope that they are already planning further collaborations.

fifth release on the acclaimed imprint from those lovely people over at the acclaimed sleazybeats blog. the dust just doesnt seem to settle at team sleazy who are set to unleash their fifth dish of mid-tempo filth. sbr005 should likely round out what has undoubtedly been more than a successful year for the sleazy beats crew. as hard as it might seem to upstage their recent sampler, this release by berliner daniel solar (of no more hits and dikso fame) is another trio of totally on point sleazy business which showcases daniels stellar skills. things start off with midfidelity funk, a snappy romp through steady synth and disco string territory. this little number delivers a perfectly spell-binding groove with nicely placed rhodes stabs, crisp tambourines and haunting vocal at the breaks. on the flip, twinkle love snaps out a sweet melange of piano, guitar/bass riff and morphing vocals that combine to give a lively mood and open atmospherics. finally, rounding up the ep is la fleur, a wonky yet punchy cut thats ripe with staunch drum sounds and strings amidst loopy vocal snippets for good measure. all three tracks ride a 110ish bpm groove that is likely to ring bells for those who have been following and digging the sleazy sound so far. the last few releases all sold out in a matter of weeks, so dont sleep on this. you know the drill by now: limited release, no repress.

your sorrows fading away, your body is feeling easiness. der berliner supdub-act philip bader ist die treibende kraft auf der supdub 014. in kollaboration mit daniel dreier sind zwei stücke entstanden, die den berliner clubsound klar definieren. philips idee ist es, mit >easy< einen natürlich, knackigen track zu stellen der seine eigene leichtigkeit im produktionsalltag ausdrückt und zugleich den typischen supdub-sound verkörpert. mit dem stück >house of spain< macht diese ep aber erst so richtig spaß. die wahl der gesangsstimme bringt auch hier lockere atmosphäre ins spiel und verzaubert den hörer. die sorgen sind vergessen, der körper ist gefüllt mit leichtigkeit, die sinne sind verzaubert - bis alles wieder vorne beginnt.

zum fünfjährigen bestehen veröffentlicht tonkind nach langer zeit mal wieder eine vinyl ep. zur feier sind es auch gleich vier interpreten die sich hier der party schenken. unter anderem die turmspringer, die sich zum jubiläum ihres labels mit einer frischen jazzig-treibenden-minimal track präsentieren. in „coqauvin“ fliegen nach aller turmspringer manier die fetzen, das selbst dem gockel die luft weg bleibt. ihren einstand als produzenten team feiert mit „vuja“ herr süüs & her sauer, die seit jahren schon als djs die berliner underground szene aufmischen und mit beherschen. auf der b-seite hören wir dann kotelett & zadak mit capriccio, welches so kühl und nüchtern daher kommt. hier wird einmal mehr minimal gegrooved und mit einer homöopathischen dosis an sounds die besten gefühle vermittelt. breger, der einzige „nicht-berliner“ auf dieser ep und beatplantation apostel aus dem ruhrpot schließt die ep mit „grain ball“ ab und zeigt, wo lang und wie schell der hase laufen kann. dubig, frisch und percusiv rollte er das feld von hinten auf. im ganzen eine sehr bunte und lebendige ep, die aus allen richtungen den wind blasen lässt. mögen die, die darauf tanzen sich keinen zug holen.

prime time-alternativ liefert niemand geringerer als der berliner &me einen remix ab. kraftvoll und eigen begründet das produzentenwunder einmal mehr, warum er zu den shooting stars des jahres 2009 gehört.

werkstoff musik war ursprünglich eine kleine partyreihe im berliner underground. mit neuen perspektiven und ehrgeiz entstand daraus die idee ein plattenlabel zu gründen, den namen aber beizubehalten. die einstige zielsetzung wird hierbei natürlich auch übernommen, mal für mal neue musikalische erlebnisse zu schaffen. dreher & sm.art dürften spätestens nach ihrem erfolgreichem depeche mode remix jedermann ein begriff sein. viele weitere produktionen auf namenhaften labels wie acker, rotary cocktail und ostwind folgten. nun zum kick-off das erstrelease >dreieckspeilung< auf werkstoff musik, ein track der es wirklich in sich hat. mittels fetten synthies und bassigen elementen wird hier eine musikalische abfahrt inszeniert. unterm strich ergibt das ein hammerstück, welches durch seine euphorische stimmung nach sommer und open air schreit. support kommt hierbei, mit den remixen, von frank martiniq und jerando.

the mysterious yet prolific berliner, lars wickinger, returns to living with this fantastic new ep. three solid yet mesmerising and catchy dancefloor tracks. since his last visit to the label lars has been refining his sound even further. releasing on more trendy labels than you can shake a stick at and even investing in real life hardware! oh yes hardware! remember that? the awkwardly titled alicia @ the wonderland is a tight, rolling, pleasing tease of a song that finally delivers in superb style - one you have to play all the way to the end! when that vocal drops, oh my, dancefloor craziness for sure. greenland is a tight bouncy number with an infectious groove and well placed vocal snatches and more than forgivable sax samples. the swing side of the moon somewhat lives up to its name with it s swinging dark vibe - perfect b2 material. classy stuff all the way through.

flying circus music, returns with its second release, this time rocking the deep, extended, dramatic house vibes of radio slaves interpretations of humates love stimulation. the new-berliner matt edwards took his popularity from underground to overground, and right back round again. the world-travelling dj founded his solid, big room production style while his infamous bootleg and remix work was a mainstay of the uk electronic scene. now, with the strength of his rekids label and his unmistakable production approach, he re-works this early classic of german techno/trance élove stimulation into two remarkable slow burning epics. the >full length vox remix< builds from very opening bars, carefully combining classic house sensibilities with a totally free and organic, long flowing arrangement. at over 15 minutes, its a heavy weight tool for those late, hedonistic hours! carrying on the blissed out theme, weare also treated to a panorama garage remix, that bears a more raw, jacking house vibe, with its straight up beats and deeply-swung chord stabs. radio slave is a master at keeping things ear-tinglingly stripped, yet still filling the room with power, energy and tension. these two remixes certainly pay their dues to classic days gone by, but they also stand out as superb examples of the modern state of house. judging by this release its still as strong as it ever was!!

bosconi is back with his third release featuring the naughty quitèfrut guys, label boss fabio della torre and his parisian-berliner mate mattako. the orginal tracks are the spontaneous results of two afterhourmakingmusic studio sessions and what came out are two proper minimal kickass bass throbbers, dry but fat dj-tool house that take inspiration from daniel bell, baby ford, zip and mike ink works. the production is concentrated on the use of analogue instruments that give the tracks a deep and warm feeling with an oldskool vibe. ?absoluca? is a trippy and hypnotic blend of tight and intricate grooves enriched by subliminal cinematic samples, tropical atmospheres and sinister male voices. special guest on bosconi this time are robsoul boss phil weeks and didier allyne under their p&d guise who drop out a very effective dance mania style remix of absoluca, a dancefloor smasher tool that goes straight to the point, strongs 909 kicks and aggressive hi hats those take you back to the chicago warehouse party time, and we think ron hardy wont have disappointed this at all !! last track called at some point? is a deep driving techno track that open your senses, the groove is detroity and the sounds of synths draw into your brain and don?t let go. open your mind to the sounds of nature!!

die schlicht und einfach „audio“ genannte tooltechno-serie von kleinschmager audio geht in die dritte runde. das studioprojekt des leipziger djs joern kleinschmager und des berliner produzenten niklas worgt (aka dapayk) bringt mit dem titeltrack „audio3“ ein knochentrockenes peaktime-stück mit funkigem, von einer hihat dominierten housebeat und effektvollem vocal part. der zweite track „helicotrema“ kommt melodiöser, aber nicht weniger deep-treibend daher. den typischen, ausgedehnten spannungsbogen kennt man auch schon von den früheren stücken auf der audio1 oder audio2 single. und noch ein kurzer blick in die zukunft: im märz 2009 wird auf rrygular das debütalbum von kleinschmager audio „audiology“ erscheinen

3000grad, der zweite streich! das junge label 3000 grad records, aus dem umfeld von acker records und fortschritt3000, bringt nun das nächste release. wie schon bei der ersten veröffentlichung dreht sich auch diesmal wieder alles um funktionale club musik. die a seite bespielt das berliner live act dreher&smart, die sich diesen sommer wohl in viele herzen der festivalbesucher gespielt haben ... auf der b seite dreht toby dreher mit andre crom die perkaschen bis auf anschlag und als bonus legen die herren dreher&smart noch ihren fusion edit von >2tonnen pro quadratmeter< dazu. super sache kann man da wohl nur sagen
