just in time for this years festive celebrations, the imprint curated by merseyside edits maestro greg wilson returns with the tape-tapping talent of fingerman. real name gregg holmes, wilson first thought his fingerman pseudonym was inspired by a character from v for vendetta, the cult graphic novel by alan moore, but he was in fact so called after creating a weird stop motion video on a mobile phone about a shouting finger. thankfully his studio work is less peculiar: years of spinning techno in the mid-90s giving way more recently to an going love affair with funk, soul and disco nuggets.

puss is a new label from hnny and kornél kovács, pushing club ready dance tracks to tenderhearted discjockeys around the world. the first release came this spring, with hnnys simple yet devastatingly effective rnb refix *boy* and kornél kovács eerie dub version *yob* sharing one side each – for the follow up, hnny transforms a late 90s jam by wexford, pennsylvanias finest into an acid-tinged house jam in two different arrangements. as always with puss, each record comes with a unique real human kiss mark. expect more to come.

hitsafe are a duo of established producers operating under an enigmatic moniker. nothing new, you might say, and that is true. the music is so outstanding and unusual though, that in this case this approach really does make sense. serious jaw-work is funk in its purest form. and we mean real funk! wonder how many djs will have the guts and abilities to play this one out…to round this release up, we asked lopazz and casio casino for a remix and these guys came up with two! both are so good, we couldnt make a choice. so here we go with both of them on this release. the jack remix on a2 is a functional tech housy Überhit, suitable for all peaktime house floors, the jane remix on the b-side is a moodymanesque version with a strong ludicruous tendency, that has all necessary qualities to become a timeless epic. massive!
