art-aud is back to present his second release of the main series, after booming with the secret rave one. this release comes from a really important icon in the italian electronic-techno scene, a person that from the beginning of the 90s helped form what we enjoy now through his music, parties and writings. his name is andrea benedetti, aka sprawl. over the years he provided help to lory d in creating sounds never seen, founded his label plasmek, created a fanzine called tunnel and a distribution company with marco passarani, to name a few. this ep contains three tracks of pure electronic excursion and a remix by the rephlex-twins darcangelo. the track electrome was originally released in 1994 on his own label and now, after nearly 23 years, sees the light again with a remaster

steffi occupies a unique space in the realm of contemporary electronic music. although she s a world renowned dj, steffi s musical interests reach far beyond the dancefloor, and it s her work as a producer that has established an impressive, hard-won legacy. soon after moving to berlin in 2007, steffi joined ostgut, becoming a resident at panorama bar and releasing on the club s label. to date she s released five albums, including two solo for ostgut ton, a co-production with virginia, another with analogue cops as third side and a collaboration as doms & deykers on martyn s 3024 label. her impressive discography features club classics like “ yours feat. virginia” , carefully chosen remixes and appearances on labels including permanent vacation, underground quality and mixes for panorama bar and fabric. she owns and operates four labels: klakson (with dexter), dolly, dolly deluxe and dolly dubs. world of the waking state is steffi s third solo album for ostgut ton and a musical departure for both her and the label. it s also a serious statement of intent. over ten tracks she embarks on entirely new electronic terrain for her productions, marking industrial spaces with superlunary warmth while exercising a refined knowledge of polyphony and arrangement. subdued melodies interact with each other over implied harmonies and microcosmic drum patterns, luring us into a world that is introverted, bewildering and gratifying all at once.

scorned by critics at the time of its release, miles davis 1972 album >on the corner< is now seen as a forerunner of post punk, hip hop, drum and bass and electronic music, thanks to its revolutionary recording techniques. miles wanted to reconnect with a younger audience, who had forsaken him for rock and funk, and the experimental >on the corner< was his answer. leaning more heavily on a drum and bass groundwork, the overdubs consisted of free improvisations held in the studio. >on the corner< isnt one of miles easiest records to listen to, but it can yield the most fruits. now released with completely re-mastered audio on 180 grams audiophile vinyl in gatefold sleeve.

the arrival of marvin parks on today’s musical scene can be considered a very fitting addition to the renaissance of the afro-american jazz crooner panorama, deeply rooted in the black music tradition. having his roots in gospel and in the ’50s and ’60s jazz singers by the likes of nat king cole, johnny hartman and joe williams, marvin parks yet remains by all means an artist of today.
in his debut marvin shapes his light baritone colors within the sound of a well-established group of musicians under the direction and production of nicola conte. the main idea was to create a soundscape to give a different light to well-known standards and some originals.

aufgenommen wurden die 15 titel von »pretty. odd.« im studio at the palms in paradise in nevada. um die produktion kümmerte sich rob mathes in den londoner abbey road studios.
bei dem album handelt es sich um das einzige, an dem bassist jon walker mitwirkte. gleichzeitig ist es das letzte, auf dem sänger und leadgitarrist ryan ross zu hören ist. beide verließen die band 2009.

this summer 2017 tom bulwer launches parasol culture, a vinyl only imprint, focusing on quality house and techno, with a tinge of “it’s a london thing”. dutch born tom came to london as a uk garage dj working up his way the ranks of pirate radio stations (freek fm, unknown fm), to producing and working with uk garage legend karl ‘tuff enuff’ brown. this year tom is focusing on tb audio, his analogue mastering studio in east london, and producing music on the deeper side of house and techno as a solo artist. tom has released on labels such as nu faze, !k7 and signatune records. he also regularly writes with long term partner in crime anna wall under their own names and under their moniker casse. the first parasol culture release is the output of tom and anna’s winter months under the same roof and in his studio in hackney wick. 2017 also sees tom start a new venture with dexter kane (murmur, get physical, fear of flying), aptly named, alternate facts, a vinyl only label and free party series, wax and stacks, party over profit, power to the people.

this is the second in a reissue series of dominick fernow’s early work as rainforest spiritual enslavement, casting spells from the green amulet crafts supernatural qualities (2011) tape onto vinyl for the first time and steadily closing the gap in your rse collection.
something like the soundtrack to one of ballard’s prophetic visions of sunken cities, this second rse incursion was initially released in an edition of 63 tapes in 2011 and found fernow dwelling in a dread-fuelled, paranoid headspace.
