the phantom is older than you think, both figuratively and literally. his debut on vinyl was on *it s my mike* by the funky force 2 back in 1987 on amanda records. in 1988 he recorded as part of the group the force and recorded *the mission* with the producer powercut. he is probably best known for being one of the main mcs in cult group dynametrix, who released an ep in 1991 and an lp in 1994 called *a measure of force* on kold sweat records. he also appeared on three tracks on the unsung heroes lp *unleashed* as well as appearing with tom dice on *thug killer*.

what better way to follow up andy meechams (chicken lips / emperor machine) huge gino fontaine originals than a duo of remixes from balearic chieftains pete herbert & stratus as one half of reverso 68 alongside phil mison, and in his own right pete has been behind a ton of mesmerising sunrise and sunset workouts, and he’s more than delivered here - crisp and club ready percussion, those stark punk-funkin’ guitars and his trademark synth work all conspire to cook up a storm on the floor martin jenkins and mat anthonys stratus outfit (remember their superb *spring tide ep* on aficionado last year ?) take a pop at the sublime konkondo on the flip and what a masterpiece it is ! a ten minute, utterly absorbing and expertly evolving piece, which flips the darker elements of the original into a mesmerising, cinematic, early 90s style balearic epic.

pulps darand land has become the labels very own stalwart. being involved in every single release thus far, a new project of a certain extend would be the next logical step. heaven electric is a mini album that s being released in two 12inch efforts. the first part comes as a 4-track release with 3 originals and a soul moving remix by no-one less than the respected edinburgh native linkwood. from the first seconds this sophomore part of the heaven electric album showcases the signature darand land style weve enjoyed so much on the previous pulp releases. beautiful chords, pads, and thriving basslines throughout. of course, the linkwood remix included in this wonderful package is not to be missed.

spencer parkers *rights for men* drops on his work them records this december with an instrumental & dub version in tow. 2014 has seen material from radio slave, concrete (paris) crew the outsiders, pittsburgh track authority and young male all grace parkers work them label, turning more than a few heads in the progress. closing the year out with his own 12 inch seems a fitting end to 2014 and in typical work them style, parker has turned an in unabashed club work out which is the berlin-based producers toughest work to date, evoking some of the aesthetics of his work as its not over.

f = ma is an hard techno ep, dynamic and pressing both for side a and side b. a two-track ep that was inspired by the physics formula s second law of motion which states that the acceleration of a body is directly proportional and in the same direction of the force acting on it, while it is inversely proportional to its mass . the track on side a, entitled -massa- is a techno track, properly basic, structured on a massive scale, and that is why it was chosen as the track for side a minded for a dance floor set. a piece that starts with decision, full of body and massive , and that is why was named massa. the track on the b side, -accelerazione- is more quite, but another dance track for this great disc. a bit more slender and smooth, with broad- acceleration in a dance floor moment certainly forwarded more than the cervical part of a set, to be spent at the end to throw the disc to the latest beats.

returning to the southern fried home, machine loving disco oddball andy meecham aka the emperor machine is back with a new single from his album, and it comes ahead of a full new ep in 2015. *pop the lid* comes with remixes by hotter than hot international talent jacques renault, with whom meecham has also collaborated on a new ep forthcoming on jacques lets play house label, and will come in the form of a hand stamped and numbered white label 12 inch, limited to 300 copies.

las finest peaking lights give bart davenport a dubby synth makeover with a california sunset flavour. after releasing his physical world album on vinyl and cd with us earlier this year, on cassette with the über everything burger records, and subsequently premiering it on pitchfork, bart davenport officially became the king of cool. surely you can t get much hipper than that? the thing is, you can. because lo and behold, we have a remix of el bartos *girl gotta way* by none other than peaking lights. on 10 inch vinyl. with a stick-on beard tucked in the sleeve. okay, no beard. but the other stuff is true. without losing any of the melancholy of the original, our la friends come up with a balearic-via-west coast affair, replacing some of the nostalgic sounding guitars with equally longing keyboards and gorgeous synth lines, invoking the sounds of ryuichi sakamotos *beauty*. score!

uwe schmidt is one of the most prolific contemporary electronic musicians of our era, with nearly 200 releases produced under a dizzying array of aliases. perhaps his most well known and celebrated project is señor coconut, of bossanova kraftwerk cover fame. we ve heard many dozens of uwes releases and consider more than a few of them to be bunker classics that are in constant rotation at both our house and on our dancefloor.

cahoots volume 3 cooks up new tracks from nick beringer, markus quittner, robert reinartz, and the zars, each adding their own flavors to the cahoots records stew of house music.
