after a few years on hiatus, one electronica has gone all out in with a heavy debut 4 tracker from new member thought camera. the young belfast born producer who has been very busy in the studio putting together an arsenal of electronic weapons has also enjoyed an increase in popularity and profile in the local scene due to his hard work and commitment to the cause. with such a strong release about to drop in the next few weeks and with more unreleased material on its way this guy is worth keeping an eye on as a rising talent. without using too many bullshit analogies this is release is simply dancefloor bliss and a djs dream that will be keep at the front of a record box for years to come and could be a favourite among various styles. the title track astral pilot comes in strong with spatial glitchy electronic chatter and tubular echoes that are pretty damn haunting. headspace comes in on a2 which is the antithesis of serenity and meditation that the name suggests. this acidic jack track is upbeat and laden with bass bleeding all over the place. flip it over and you have lifeforms on the b1 which is the most technical track on the release which ebbs and flows between solemn and sombre leaving you emotionally twisted yet intrigued this is one to look out for! obsession which aptly depicts this track a stalker in the night, haunting, imposing, friday 13th shit. not for the faint hearted.

in this stage of my life there is much more reflection and contemplation, and i really feel that i was very open and unguarded on this album. as much as i love all the completed songs with the vocals, the beats on here hold enough detail to speak on their own.

hijacked records detroit is feeling inspired after hearing new work from one of our favourite allies in techno, jules wells. we felt it was our duty to deliver this to the people, three new productions from jules with a guest remix from our own antwon faulkner. please enjoy - -silent orchestra.- the title track from jules really set the bar for this release. jules really understands story telling with music and this track transports you to a time in techno that was both hopeful and beautifully heart breaking. a persistent chord progression is wrapped in celestial synth harmonies filing up the space all around you and reaching in. that classic clap is underpinned with a touch of acid, creating an edge. at the 4:33 mark an enchanting and haunting sign wave tells a melodic tragedy. strings come in delicately but wash over you completely. this track is both stunning and devastating.

aar is a project by milan-based producer, dj and designer giorgio di salvo. the first grade lp is his first record under this name, self-released in collaboration with haunter records, the first chapter in a new series dedicated to tonal and rhythmic experimentation. advanced audio research is the ironic definition of this new music course of his, a nod to the large amount of esoteric studio gear accumulated and (ab)used during the years. the project itself is the result of years of study and experimentation with generative music matrices, based on the application of a three dimensional array of variables and unknowns to algorithmic pattern creation. the result is punishing, close to the most radical exploits in ear-wrenching breakcore, footwork and jungle, albeit with a sonic and structural finesse that reveals the producers manic dedication. track a-4 is produced in collaboration with somec and b-01 in collaboration with heith, channeling abstract and melancholic vibes into the project. vinyl comes in ultra ltd. edition of 100 copies, each one wrapped in a different hand-printed folder.

as always, the return of ruede hagelstein is inevitable and with each return he ups the ante tenfold showcasing his ever growing prowess behind the studio door. it seems as if, with each ruede ep, the amount of elements utilized shrinks while at the same time the sound grows in power and dominance and that could not be better exemplified than here. consisting of two originals and a remix from the one and only martin buttrich, the ep is a gross display of well thought out, mature dance floor jewels. opening the short player is hagelsteins dematerialize feat. justin evans where a sinister yet soothing vocal sets the tone for the entire track, laying the groundwork for a gorgeous bass drum and shimmers of distant percussion carry us into celestial spaces. forward vision is up next and follows suit by relying on a brooding minimal groove to drive the shimmers of glistening atmospherics and sparkling sonics optimal for dizzy and delirious club moments. last but certainly not least we turn to the legend who is martin buttrich to twist the original dematerialize feat. justin evan into a more straightforward composition with his signature stylings opening the doors of accessibility to a wider demographic of disc jockeys resulting in a track that stretches the playability to a wide range of disc jockeys

with its lush live string and horn section, cant stop loving you when originally released in 1990 was an immediate favorite in the uk, and represented famed house producer marshall jeffersons movement toward utilizing live instrumentation in his productions. the track was released right around the time the kiss fm london launched as a legal radio station, and richard was support talent at the radio station launch party in hyde park london that was headlined by fellow chicagoans ten city.
the track also represented one of the last releases on the relaunched sam records imprint, before michael weiss ceased releasing new titles on sam and started nervous records.

!!! 2018 repress !!! of nu guineas outstanding world ep the neapolitan duo is set to release new material on tartelet later in the year as part of the labels 10 th anniversary. the beautifully dislocated bougainvilles live lays out some warm analogue textures across a live percussion base, while the vocal edit of title track nu world ploughs a similar furrow to obscure 80s afro-disco, with rich musical synth work over a pacey afro groove and undeniable jazz-funk flair. the flute mix passes over the vocal refrain from mix one and just gets down and wigs-out on those solos - an absolute killer! exotica dance club sounds like herbie visited the salsoul studios with his banks of analogue gear and jammed out into the small hours, as we head home on the beatless outro, all synth washes and lavish ear candy.

mika visited the moog sound-lab in april 2015. he made one his last known solo studio recordings in the form of two vinyl sized side long pieces. entitled lydspor - danish for soundtrack. mika worked almost exclusively with the labs moog modular system 55.
this uk sound -lab instrument is the sole protoype model (containing several golden filters) of moogs recent sold out reverse-engineered edition (55 units only) recreating the 1970s classic.
on completion of his sessions mika announced i could work with this machine for the rest of my life

a second moog session was planned but tragically mika died in an accident in april 2017, shortly after he had approved the vinyl mastering.
