antwood (a.k.a. canada’s tristan douglas) returns to planet mu with his second album “sponsored content”. the album is more reflective than his debut, last year’s “virtuous.scr”. the relentless mood of the first album has given way to a more melodic, stripped out sound. it still shakes with speed and energy, but with more space, more moments of delicate sadness and strange cyborg pop. what comes to the fore in “sponsored content” is tristan’s gift for melody, coupled with the uncanny feeling that somehow his strange music is an entire ecosystem of it’s own.

brooklyn/london-based label truecolors follows its debut release with a 12- four-tracker by zigan aldi titled fidale ep. based in berlin, zigan aldi contributed to truecolors va from earlier this year alongside bedouin, nu and stavroz, which has conquered the beatport charts and stayed strong in several vinyl charts. titled fidale , his next outing on truecolors sees aldi make use of analog gear and original recordings of real instruments as opposed to samples, as well as tape to mix the tracks down. this year has seen the producer gig regularly in locations like ibiza, vienna, berlin and istanbul where his live performances incorporate musicians. the tracks have gotten tremendous support and love throughout the summer, at the saga parties at heart ibiza, where zigan holds a residency. deep chords and echoing effects make up fidale as a medley of instruments ebb and flow from the mix, making way for the low-slung groove of moonfly with its infectious guitar licks and serene aesthetic. beni beni incorporates organic drums and soaring atmospherics that blend together with turkish vocalist meltem cumbul s chanting voice, until nu past concludes the release with its crunchy percussion and sultry bass..

house for her is a label founding its birth in the need that she s gone had to express his feelings in his mixes and productions. the time came to him, 1 year ago to give the floor to other people, to let everyone build pieces of music around their lived experience. in this release, the four artists came to cover in mist the wax in a cascade of tablecloths sometimes soft and other times more aggressive, to develop a ep rich in questioning, ranging from dance pieces to other more ambient things, linking them together to tell a story. raär and mp-57, as usual, darkened in the pile, revealing brutal tracks but nevertheless completely full of feelings. devant, with a more colorful touch, has come to appease the ep of a piece of a house deep and sexy, endowed with an atmosphere reminding us much nostalgia. and finally entrave, in a final piece, quietly envelops us to finish to walk in this ep, as in a novel, a kind of sombre happy-end.

we are very excited to welcome rocco & esquivel to cosmica s roster this year. the duo formed by rodrigo desentis (méxico) and eduardo esquivel (uruguay) provide an uptempo gem strictly designed for the dance floor. esquivel is a well know name in the latin american electronic music scene, since he started his residency at the mythical club extasis in montevideo. after 25 years of career and extensively touring through uruguay, brasil and argentina, eduardo has settled in méxico city with residencies in the acclaimed blanco colima and casa disco.

just over a year ago cassy embarked on her largest and most personal project yet, her debut solo album donna , released on revered imprint aus music. since then, cassy has put out a string of remixes on powerplant, turbo, echoe and watergate, plus a track on muna s latest va. throughout this period, cassy has also been in the studio working on new material, the first of which to be released in september, and is titled cassy 004 . as the title infers, cassy is reawakening her self-titled imprint she created in 2006, and has had three previous releases until now. with no plan or set schedule, the remit was simply to release her own records, when the time is right, and the quality is high. the music always reflected the quirkier side to cassy s club tastes. and 004 continue in this vein. it perfectly encapsulates the sleek and hypnotic sounds of the harder end of her dj sets. the tracks are titled one and two , with cassy giving one a reshape to round off a trio of cuts aimed at the dancefloor.

one year later the italian duo toms due come back to etruria , this time with magma , groovy techno ep composed by two banging original tracks and mr. ambivalent and mr cosmin trg remixes. the first is the original magma a powerful track with a big room kick and a old school melody that grows together with a simple one-note chord to create a destroying tool. the second original is stratum characterized by a power melodic chord and an energetic groove. then comes ambivalent remix, a name who doesnt need presentations, dark synth in his full style, raw drum with sharp / pungent 909 rhythms. last but not the least cosmin trg remix is a powerful techno tool, composed by a hypnotic chord wrapped by powerful techno drum groove.and space.

doorly s reptile dysfunction continues to prove itself to be one of the most vibrant and singular labels around, this time tapping up legendary producer jaydee for its latest release. jaydee is a dance music pioneer. best know for the seminal plastic dreams - a track that, somewhat terrifyingly for those who remember it the first time around, will be celebrating its 25 th anniversary next year - he has continued to be a leading light in innovative house and techno productions, releasing on r&s and ellum audio in the last few years. here, he teams up with fellow dance music visionary doorly for a searingly brilliant release on the latter s reptile dysfunction imprint. acid pressure ep presents two original cuts from jaydee, with supporting remixed from doorly and trooko. kicking things off, back into acid opens with stunningly heartfelt pads before building to a killer acid line via shimmering percussion and erotically charged vocal snatches. bring the pressure is more direct: a house roller softened by basic channel-esque chords and with added rhythm courtesy of the accompanying ragga chants. on the remix front, doorly flips back into acid into something far more menacing, with fierce synths stabs and rolling drums creating a head down stomper, while trooko chops back into pressure into pieces, crafting a thumping main room house cut from the constituent parts, complete with an epic, piano-led breakdown.

finally four guys from the deepest south of germany decided to share some of their shit on vinyl and hodenhouse is the result of this idea. as the name of the label suggests those four guys never takin things and themselves too seriously. it s a pure love thang. and love is limited. like our first ep, hodenhouse001, limited to 250 pcs, vinyl only. perhaps in the future there will be some more releases, perhaps not. we don t know jet and to us it isn t as much important at the moment. the ep includes tracks from mad lee, kaam and nly1p. be prepared. it will be released later this year. yo.

drumcode continues its commitment to releasing the scene s most cutting-edge techno. with releases this year already from adam beyer, pig&dan, alan fitzpatrick, dense & pika and julian jeweil, this july sees the return of enrico sangiuliano with astral projection. after his remix of mobys of why does my heart feel so bad back in november last year, enrico sought creative inspiration from his travels, transcending that into his productions and long studio sessions during the winter months. the result brings a mind and body melting release from the italian producer. the title track astral projection is a captivating, big room techno masterpiece. deep reverberations punch alongside a sinisterly crisp percussive drive. launching into a groove laden synth modulation of low end textures, it breaks down into an ethereal amalgamation of pads and synths before the vocal launches, taking this track to another level. ‘blooming era has destructive dancefloor intent. there is no holding back with the low end synth modulation which enrico has mastered to perfection. a tightly woven percussive flare moulds flawlessly with the rolling oscillations of the beast of this track. if you have seen label head honcho adam beyer playing anywhere on the globe in the last 5 months, this has been a peak time favourite. road-tested to the max, and with much success.
