ltd grey vinyl - naibu, has been busy. we are giving him a well deserved rest. fresh on the back of his highly acclaimed *fall* project, and the *never released* album, naibu fans have been spoiled with quality beats, and as he buries himself in the studio writing some fresh music, we are letting some of our favourite artists remix some of his works.
it s been quite a while since naibu’s last feature on scientific. more than a year has passed since the release of his acclaimed “case study”, a mature and eclectic quasi d’n’b album rich in live instrumentation and tons of intricate details.
and here’s a follow-up to this work a four track remix ep featuring reworks by some of the biggest names in the atmospheric deep drum & bass current of today. naibu’s already captivating take on music gets reinterpreted in four different ways, so just know that you’ll be treated with a sense of freshness and familiarity at the same time.
spanning a variety of shades of drum & bass, from hiddenwave’s deep and rolling take on “turn me down”, through seba’s nostalgic rework of “astray” and bungle’s powerful, cosmic rearrangement of “case study”, to future engineers heavyweight, solid-basslined reinvention of “fighting for attention”, the ep acts as an excellent supplement to naibu’s original work, offering listeners even more of auditory pleasure.
to celebrate their 20th release none60 have recruited naibu for two superb remixes!
naibu was given the choice of remixing anything in the none60 back catalogue and chose to remix silent dust’s collaborations with detroit’s selfsays to astounding effect, keeping the hip hop elements of the original and mixing them with his unique drum work and atmospherics. selfsays vocals jump around naibu’s reworkings superbly to create two essential hip hop/drum & bass crossover tracks.
naibus third release in a row on hznx is a remix 12 from 2 of the most exciting new artists in the scene. the original *play with fire* was one of the stand out tracks from naibus *fall ep*, and these are 2 superb interpretations on a supreme original.
as warm summer nights go by, we are wandering from highest peaks to deeper downs enjoying that particular period, absys records presents their newest 12inch vinyl filled with finest quality drum & bass music!

>there< is a tune that represents a special place, somewhere you like to be or you dream to go to, a place you can fantasize, where you know everything is ideal. the tune itself is very straightforward, the drumwork is photek inspired and the bassline makes the melody, surrounded by an array of ethereal sounds which paint the background.
>doubts< - spinline remix is a heavy dancefloor take from the hungarian boys, full of nice detailing. they took the original (featuring vocals from miss drop) to a new level and that bassline will move any crowd!
this tracks a bit special, one of the best tracks i ve heard in a long long while, fabio. we couldnt agree more, fabio follows up the release of lynxs disco dodo with this masterpiece of sublime soul. hailing from the suburbs of paris, france, naibu started making music around 2002, inspired by the likes of dj shadow, dj krush and amon tobin.

as rapper rakim would say: its been a long time: mischa van de bilt aka mav (and earlier - maverick) is back in the game. old timers will surely remember him from his groundbreaking me against the machine released on fokuz back in 2005, as well as his atmospheric and futuristic creative output found on citrus, red mist, camino blue, offshore, warm communications or kos.mos, soul & ice (to mention a few), as well as on the now defunct ascs covert operationsrecordings. its hard to believe this is actually his first full-length album. the 12 inch vinyl sampler includes the full album on cd and an a2 poster.

for three years - that is from the very beginning of absys coming to life - weve been concerned with shaping the profile of our label, concentrating mainly on the originality of sound, thus supporting both native (poland is a country of great potential and to show it is part of our mission), as well as foreign upcoming artists. after some time we can say that the path weve chosen is right.so, mystical deep vol 2 is kind of an essence of absys records and at the same time the twin of its predecessor - mystical deep. we present to you an extrasensory journey into the very centre of human mind. this journey will be mysterious, atmospheric, dubby, futuristic and - of course - set in the core of depth, but still, despite the featured diversity, will also be coherent and consistent. we hope that this compilation of music, associated by beautiful artwork, will be a good mood enhancer - not only in the autumn cloudy and rainy days.
so without further ado we present to you madmen & poets - scandinavian sunday. these guys have been busy with dnb for a long while now. some of you might know, but these guys have been responsible for the fresh phunkfiction label and have been releasing on various labels in the past. this 2xcd pack is the fruits of their long labor and features all of their best tracks to date. lush vocal tunes combined with beautiful jazz sounds will grasp the listener by surprise and take them on this soulful journey. madmen & poets - scandinavian sunday is a wicked compilation that combines basslines with soul and is an essential purchase for the upcoming spring period. no doubt that this will be the soundtrack to the summer of 2010!
