stuttgarts motor city drum ensemble (aka danillo plessow aka inverse cinematics),presents a superb ep of deep house taking its cues from berlin and detroit. 2008 was a great year for motor city drum ensemble releasing parts one and two of the highly acclaimed raw cuts series which featured heavily in many best of 2008 house music charts. he finished the year with an excellent resident advisor podcast and a set at the resident advisor christmas party. his ‘get slapped up’ release on compost black and ‘breath control’ release on his own four roses label have been in the boxes of taste maker djs and seen him become an in demand producer. danillo is also a part of the inverse cinematics production team who have released on pulver, fuid ounce showcasing his more jazzy, broken beat production style. this debut 2020 release features three superb tracks that take their inspiration from the likes of theo parrish and carl craig as well as the deep house sound of berlin, yet retain the signature mcde sound.

austrian shooting star project niereich was founded in 2010. as dj/live act, producer and label co-owner of audio stimulation recordings he serves as a true multi-purpose weapon. while playing at the biggest in- and outdoor events and his releases being supported by the biggest dj s across the globe, he undoubtedly set his mark on the international dance scene. niereich is known to be rocking as there s no tomorrow. this urban format ep is packed with techno bliss and consists of 3 strong, dark and deep tracks.

taking a brief detour from his normal abrasive distorted sound, pinion showcases his broad spectrum as an artist with the desire ep. the title track, desire (half measure),starts out of the gate with a thunderous half beat 808 coupled with a swinging hihat pattern that slowly works ethereal vocal slices into the forefront, accompanied with a modulating synth pad that evolves into a defining melody. the sister track, desire (full measure), has very similar characteristics as the original, but allowing a little more edge for the dancefloor to build on. the third original track, recollection shifts gears quite drastically with a 135 bpm stormer with enough soul and melody to make the uncharacteristically fast tempo seem inconsequential. last, comes kyle geiger on remix duties to round out the ep with a housier take on desire, but still enough bite to fit nicely into any techno set.
