mood 24 returns with the mood series various artists. for this installment we have 4 special tracks each one to suit different styles and tastes. first up we have nima gorji with his contraction track. a groovy minimal track, repetitive but at same time brings you along through a little journey on the dance floor. dragutesku gives us a deep and dark track with special little sounds here and there to bring suspense and anticipation to this wicked track. negru has a more solid house style. 808 drums, sick sub bass and a jazz melodies. petar cvetkovic gives us some more tech house orientated sounds, simplistic drums, groovy rolling percs and a sick vox to wrap things up nicely.

hiding slightly out of plain sight, australian producer mood j has been secretly crafting lush house jams for the last half decade bubbling just under the visible surface.
with the artist and asquith having briefly touched base at the beginning of the label’s journey, it took only a chance encounter in a ballarat bungalow in 2016 to reignite the flames of the artist-label relationship. jimmy surprisingly bumping into jon (mood j), as he was daze’s housemate in aus, whilst the lobster crew were on tour there.
mood j’s hard drive was stashed with archive of warm, sizzling, analogue studio tracks cooked to the nines, and so here we are just over 14 months later with the full epic debut in hand.

released in 1983, guy cuevas 12inch single -obsession- is probably one of the best french disco-boogie records, enriched by jean-paul goude s artwork for the cover. the a-sides nassau mix by fran?ois k is a sensual and airy journey, while the b-side s london mix offers a more realistic approach that will please the more classic-listening disco enthusiasts. huge tip!!

without artwork cover - only standard cover (see picture)...ltd warehouse / backstock - the midnite ep is the follow up ep to delano smith s sunrise ep on third ear recordings, released at the end of 2008. the sunrise ep was one of the underground house records of 2009, and the midnite ep is set to be one of the underground house records of 2010. both delano and us think the midnite ep is better than sunrise. after the sunrise ep, we decided to do it again and maintain the theme and name the next ep after a moment, a feeling within the dance floor experience. we decided on midnite. once again we have selected four tracks from a selection that delano sent us. you can play these tracks at any time of the day or night, and we encourage you to experiment in this way. however, dropping any of these tracks at midnite will ensure that you, your dance floor and all the people in the room will be set up for the journey. :-) a1: a special kind is constructed in the classic style of filtered samples from another record over a fat (really fat as this is a record made in detroit) kick drum. the samples are from ashford and simpson s stay free from 1979 on warner bros records. it is a sign of a good dance music producer that s/he can take an already great track and turn it into a dance floor bomb. delano has done this with a special kind. 117bpm. a2: dee s gruv is a very deep, very atmospheric groove. a crisp snare, a growling bass, a kick drum of varying intensity though the track framing the vibe, and a subtly modulating chord that goes on forever. hi-hats and ride cymbal move in and out of the track as it ebbs and flows. this kind of deep, grooving suspension of time is becoming a delano smith speciality. 122bpm. b1: the exploration is delano working through the same ideas as he explores in dee s gruv. hitting harder and driving faster than dees gruv, the exploration is a continuation of delano s search for the ultimate deep house groove. all students of electronic dance music should check this.

this anthology brings to light the music of robert Æolus myers, featuring recordings from 1982 to 2006 that were previously available only on cassette or cd.
the music within “a retrospective” tells the story of a man whose music elevates its listeners to a place of inspiration and enlightenment. often ethereal, Æolus’ music is driven by synthesizers, melodic flutes, sweeping patterns, and subtle rhythms to seed inspiration from deep within the listener.
one might assume that Æolus carved a new path for electronic music in hawaii, but the islands never quite fully embraced the burgeoning new age scene that Æolus found himself a part of during the 1980s and the early 1990s.
few artists in hawaii have produced a body of work, let alone embarked on a musical journey, such as the one that Æolus has created.
for aloha got soul, this release marks a new chapter of bringing rare and relatively unknown music of hawaii to the surface.

pisetzky s full debut album on just this includes adventures into contemporary techno music, fines ambient works, and unique broken pieces. an intense mixture of incredible warmth, weird fluffiness, mystic trumpets and high uplifts, the album is interspersed with short ambient and fragmentated interludes, each just a few minutes long: ‘state of consciousness’ and ‘tears of a rough machine’ are serene and reflective tracks that give the listener time to breathe and bringing him/her back to more dancefloor focused tracks of the lp like viridis, bakwas and wand. the result is a magic story, a history in eleven chapters that the listener is guided through, like the landscapes of a mystic journey, with a twist on the melodies and hidden effects behind every deep bass sound.
