brilliant tv and movie themes by francois de roubaix!!! on 20 november 1975 francois de roubaix disappeared while diving. before going towards this tragic death, francois had received an order for a television series theme tune commissaire moulin. as usual, the composed melody has been indelibly printed in the collective memory. francois de roubaix always put his fingers where it should be! between electronic tricks and acoustic works, this record brings the themes of this television series together with other musics composed for never released or still unknown projects... all unpublished music, never pressed on vinyl! it soon becomes clear that francois de roubaix feels confortable with this kind of exercises. the result is every time sublime. recommended!!

alex north’s work for ballet, symphony orchestra, television and film continues to stand the test of time almost 25 years after his death. although nominated 15 times for an academy award, it wasn’t until 1986 that he was finally given due recognition when a lifetime achievement oscar was bestowed upon him. but, as this soundtrack lp so amply demonstrates, his pioneering work on streetcar remains one of alex north’s crowning achievements.

the latest release from guy gerbers respected rumors label comes in the form of this 4-track ep from elusive producer clarian. a regular guy gerber collaborator and remixer, clarian has also recently released on the likes of anjunadeep, turbo, life and death, supplement facts and my favourite robot. despite his mysterious persona, clarian is regularly booked to play slots at some of the worlds best clubs fabric, watergate, and output to name just a few.

following an acclaimed release on ancient monarchy and ahead of his debut for blackest ever black, rhythmic theory returns to idle hands for the third time. ‘future tense’ channels the spirit of era defining mid-90s dnb but twists it with a contemporary techno feel. a contemporary of livity sound and hodge, rhythmic theory’s music sits closely to theirs but with a distinct sound palette all of his own.

matt karmil was born in 1979 near the giant pre-historic glockenspiel / mythical neolithic monument known as stonehenge. his debut ep for studio barnhus, following 2014s masterful remix of talaboman, is an homage to the nacksving studio in gothenburg, another mythical place that matt calls home.

rubber is new label from the hague with a motley mixture of off-radar electronix for both the experimental clubber and home listener. rubber001 is a bold three-tracker. mannequin records head-honcho alessandro adriani hits the nail on the head with his secret weapons. secondly, reigning from finland, 0.5w (halvtrak and stak etop) pans across the room like running with titanium scissors. the cherry on top is this piece of dutch drum-laden poetry, probably on illegal medication, about a bicycle mechanic from the hague by legends unit moebius, reverend cor gout and salo mentale. all on 180 grams of white vinyl in a white jacket.

mono junks label dum records is back! in 1994 an untitled 12” ep emerged from helsinki, finland. it was produced by an unknown duo called coopers and released by dum records. that particular squelchy sounding piece of wax helped to establish the sound that was later to be known as finnish minimal techno. alongside sähkö recordings, dum was one of the mainstays of gloomy northern electronics until its death in 2007. after an extremely long hiatus both dum records and coopers have now resurrected and instead of their trademark minimalism they offer now a 3-piece ep full of techno maximality! * indian acid* is a wonky excursion in repetition topped with roland corporations classical tr-727 congas, * ixam* takes you back to the soundscapes of 90s dreary finnish acid and * maximal fun* is a 12-minute trip to the electronic kraut techno madness of the coopers. play loud and preferably in dark. coopers are back with a vengeance!

the four tracks on his seventh ep stand out as masterful, immersive, very intense and at times eerie pieces of lower-bpm dance music. opener *sun gun* and title-track *two headed beast* follow up on the trails of *journey to the center of the sun* or *marlborol noir*, adding further proof of his ability to constantly deliver memorable synth jams. the b-sides *caverns* and *white lodge* allow him to explore his darker side, adding even more melodic intricacy and dramatic moments to his deep, eerie trademark sound.

midgar is proud to introduce a newcomer for the third release. a great debut for the maltese cloned, delivering not less than 4 cuts with sapphire 1990 e.p. the record, way more straightforward and groove centered than the previous midgar outputs, opens with sapphire 1990, track that sounds like very nostalgic memories from a timeless rave. thanks to a genuine simplicity and the great arrangement of its elements, this first cut has the perfect characteristics to become a dancefloor anthem. on the same side, a live out-take from cloned’s repertory, the pendulum swinging synth-lines which dominate pretty direct rhythmics filled with hi-hats and claps over a costant background noise. belgassem as the first cut on the b side, is an absolutely heavy one for the label’s standards, made of deep kickin’ drums and haunting voices empowered by a really strong and obsessive acid-line. closing the vinyl, the slow (and again really acidic) submerging is like a lysergic vessel headed to more comfortable dimensions, where groovy drums are embraced by very bright heavenly pads. sudden death is instead a chilled-out broken beat interrupted by confused speeches and detroitish pads, resulting as a modern ritual of ascension towards higher spheres. corel drives the release to the end, recalling most of its main features: a restless run through misty soundscapes along a path studded of bells and overwhelming, sharp hi-hats.
