davide disanto is an amazing italian producer born in bari, after multiple releases on excellent labels such as let s play house, politics of dancing or even theory of swing, he delivers us a fabulous 12 inch which borrows as much from the heyday of the purest new-york city 90s deep house as well as the purest techno made in detroit. the 1st track from this ep seems to have come straight from an imaginary collaboration between boo williams & ron trent, the violence of the rhythm is counterbalanced by some airy & ultra deep pads, the aptly named atmosfear. a banger as we rarely hear today. c mon, let me see on a2 sounds like a modern take on the awesome jerzzey boy. on the b side, da love feeling (main mix) & le (4am underground dub) revisits the 90s once again for our greatest pleasure, particularly the latter seems to have come straight out of a lost mix of the great danny tenaglia. and to end this ep in style, davide allows himself the luxury of summoning the spirit of mbg and all the best italian deep house from the early 90s on the superb lungomare (ambient reprise). essential item !

the 10th release on blkmarket music features payphone, with unicorn system. from the founders of toronto s payphone studios and members of the hypnotic mindscapes crew and record label, the payphone trio make their label debut with 4 hardware-heavy tracks. this elusive 3-member live-act take a functional yet improvisational approach, influenced by years of chasing the wonk during late-night jam sessions. kicking-off the ep is the retro futurism of don e = dark o - a melancholic, chiaroscuro-esque house-meets-techno track harking back to a bygone era of rave. the a2 fool circle shifts gears into the afterhours with an infectious, metallic groove. on the flip, aquatic-deep techno cut sea sex librarian dubs things out with trippy vocals and a booming round baseline. rounding out the ep, get outta 84 conjures cinematic dystopia with deep electro-infused breaks.

as modularz approaches it s 50th release - label owner developer decided to feature a 4 track sampler taken from the new lp by chicago s zachary lubin named -omronicon- this is modularz 49 to be exact and features a wealth of groove based bangers all carrying the same aesthetic and theme through the recordings. it s hard to pin point if this is a hard or deep release so let s say it s entirely both and with good reason - it s also very synth heavy and gains ongoing momentum the more you listen. it s very obvious that modularz puts out excellent techno and this is by far no exception. tip

the piano man of techno, fabrizio rat, is back on involve with four tracks made to expand minds while moving bodies. the vibrant title track opens the ep with sharp cymbals and a synth whose trippyness is underlined by a commanding hypnotic vocal, ordering the crowd to dance till dawn. say word follows up with the same high pace and catches the attention with stabbing, cut off vocals, fast beats and an epic melody. rat’s piano skills take us on a hallucinatory journey with whirring atmospherics driven by the aim of reaching ecstasy on rave runner, before involve records label head regal closes the ep with a remix, delivering what he’s best known for. a slamming straight-forward techno cut with a deep bassline emphasized by rat’s contrasting ethereal melody.

revelation ep is the debut release of australian record label denude, showcasing the latest work of melbourne based artist eddie hale. the title track revelation is both driving and warm - layered percussion lines rise and fall amongst detroit inspired stabs and subtly textured elements creating an infectious and uplifting groove. a2’s surging is both tunnelling and driving - straight into late night / early hours territory - with swirling sounds forming a hypnotizing sonic bath for the body and mind. rounding up the a side with a change of pace, aperture’s syncopated percussion leads us on a peaceful detour through ethereal synthscapes as we follow the round journey of an evolving sound that travels full circle. on the flip, joel mull’s hypno mix of revelations propels the listener with mechanical precision through dizzyingly expansive atmospheres of truly mind melting proportions. closing out the ep is terrace of an elephant, tranquil and reflective synth-work juxtaposed with coloured stabs striking through like comets across the night sky - brings us back down to earth in a contemplative mood.

elysium (a.k.a. burning skies of elysium seit 1985) gründeten sich im herbst 1981 in horley, surrey (uk). ihre erste veröffentlichung war die 4-track-kassetten-ep amongst those clouds von 1983. sie enthielt ihre ersten beiden songs, die im märz 1982 in rendezvous, john ratcliffs studio im süden londons, aufgenommen wurden, zusammen mit zwei weiteren songs, die im januar oder februar 1983 in den ambiance recording studios in burgess hill aufgenommen wurden. später gesellte sich der saxophonist ron howe hinzu. ihre erste vinyl-veröffentlichung kam im september 1984, die summer house b/w through flak & flak 7-, wieder in den ambiance recording studios aufgenommen. ein song aus diesen sessions mit dem titel emporium blieb absolut ungehört und vergessen. bis jetzt.
wir haben diese sieben frühen songs zusammengetragen, um unsere erweiterte vinyl-version von amongst those clouds zu kreieren, die in einer limitierten, handnummerierten auflage von 120 exemplaren in einer matten hülle mit einem doppelseitigen einleger und einem download-code erscheint.
