the irish blues-rock multi-instrumentalist rory gallagher recorded quite some solo albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s. music on vinyl already released the lost album >notes from san francisco<(movlp349) in september 2011. now its time for gallaghers first two albums to get fully remastered and pressed on audiophile 180-grams vinyl.
rory gallagher released his eponymous solo debut album in 1971. this album marked the departure from taste, the first band which gallagher founded, and the start of his solo career. gallagher wrote all the songs himself and recorded the album with two befriended belfast musicians.

excellent 4 track vinyl with fantastic deep house. it gets started with >spring loop<, a track that looks to its name both for feeling and production sense. of course that sensuous vocal sample that gets drawn through it wouldnt do the job on its own, but rau knows that too and surrounds it with a warm, humid bassline and his always changing and snapping drums to keep it in the pocket for the whole 5 minutes. even though the groove on the a1 is already heavy for him, he goes deeper yet with >swearing (vinyl version)< that jamaican vocal is something so classic that we wont spoil it here, but the pumping house beat and piano stabs he winds around it give even more poignancy to the lyrical substance… we are pretty sure that by the time he finally echoes the vocal out late in the track there will be some hands in the air for this one

nice price deal !!! bran van 300 is a musical circus orchestrated by james di salvio. known for there 1998 hit >drinking in la<, this unconventional collective is based out of montreal but also la, and even mexico. this is taken from their most recent album >the garden<, and features the vocals of freddie james, a child star of the disco days in montreal famous for his 1979 hit >everybody, get up & boogie<. fast forward 30 years and we have this amazing collaboration between bran van and freddie that we just had to get our hands on!
