detroit is the first single from double night time, the upcoming album from morgan geist and his first solo artist album in over a decade. it features two epic, gorgeous remixes from grammy-nominated remixer carl craig and features vocals from jeremy greenspan of junior boys. after turning the dance music world on its head with his metro area project (alongside collaborator darshan jesrani) and mining rare disco gems with the seminal obscure disco dj mix unclassics (2004), geist decided it was time to turn his attention to a solo album. detroit is the lead song from the album and (as careful listeners may discern) is based loosely on 24k
some fresh blood on ior from newcomer craig bratley who delivers a slow motion slab of electronic funk. remixes from burnt island casuals + 6th borough project.
fresh from the joys of their darkroom dubs vol.ii compilation sampler, silicone souls label returns with the first in a new >limited vinyl< series. launching things in fine style and making a very welcomed debut on the label are rising stars craig torrance and philip hochstrate with >surgery successful<. on remix duty is one of the leading lights of the dutch and world house scene, boris werner. with a host of open hats, jazzy snare rolls, and crisp drum work, he adapts the dreamy elements of the original to create a wonderful rework.
just in time to warm the winter months up north (and soundtrack some seriously dreamy summer nights down south) comes a very special remix package for mirko lokos album >seventynine<, featuring three certified legends of house and techno: carl craig, ricardo villalobos and cadenzas own master of ceremonies, luciano. and when we say >very special<, we mean it: these are big tunes with a deceptively subtle touch, and their sleight-of-hand moves are going to turn all types of dance floors upside down.

yerba buena discos is proud to offer the newest release from allen craig. the new style ep represents a move from allen craigs familiar jackin house into a deeper, more tech flavoured style. the ep is completed with a dub of yeah from robsouls phil weeks and an even deeper afrotech remix of deeper blue by homero espinosa!
paul thomas is having quite a year. bresident at gods kitchen, remixing the likes of chicane and working alongside funkagenda as ptfa. this second release from him on baroque is a low slung dirty chugger in the form of onzieme, his slammin collaboration with craig watt toadrip takes up the flip side.
carl craigs creation of angel found its way onto the second installment of darkness, released 2005. observers of carls music declares this era to have been the strongest material since earlier tempered psyche / bfc classics. now reborn by the crafting hands of jerome sydenham and detroit native keith kemp, we enthusiastically introduceà guilty pleasures debut release, carl craig - angel remixes --- jerome sydenham: born and raised in ibadan, nigeria to an english father and jamaican mother, he was schooled in his teens in england before migrating to new york city in the early 80s. sydenhams work today is largely influenced by the cultural diversity of his upbringing and has echoes of a musical history that spans indigenous african and contemporary western music. during the mid 80s he became involved in the underground dance music scene both as a dj and a promoter. in 1986 he threw a successful weekly party in philadelphia and by 1987 he had a residency at the legendary nells in nyc. --- keith kemp: keith kemp has been a dj in and around the detroit area for the last 10 years, primarily focused on fusing fragmented bits of the detroit techno blueprint all over the dance floor. through various residencies, dj sets, and live performances, he has been on a constant personal journey within electronic music ranging from performing at the detroit electronic music festival to movie scores and sound design. since 2001, keith has found himself involved with the operations of the ferrispark record label as well as several releases on various detroit labels reaching all corners of the world. as a life-long connoisseur of music, his dj sets can range from glitch funk, industrial, hip-hop and jungle
the enclave of both established artists and fresh undiscovered talent whose shared passion of deep underground detroit influenced house and disco are reflected in the quality output you will come to expect from the label. franc spangler, the revenge, zepp001, john daly, alpha child, 6th borough project, tuccifunk and pezzner are just some of the producers creating their work with tender loving care for delusions. dog01 will be setting the standard with the soul part ii from craig smith & the revenge. these boys are currently riding a wave of successful releases, mainly in the form of their disco and boogie edits under their 6th borough project guise on instruments of rapture. here we see them move into original production territory with a bass heavy slice of brooding and grooving floor friendly house but with their own unique twist. tempos are kept low, drums are kept live sounding and the subtle italo synth lines all ensure this track keeps true to their roots in disco. for their 6th borough project dub they dive head first into a slowly building, drum and percussion heavy workout which has a beautiful tension to it. this is music for small basements with big sound systems. finally we have john dalys beautiful interpretation where he opts for a blissed out, understated and hypnotic sound that wraps you up in layers of warm, echoing synths whilst the groove chugs along masterfully. a true mood setter or after hours classic
on the second white owl release, craig takes maya angelous famous poem phenomenal woman and puts it to song. deep bass and plinky keys swirl around the powerful words. the mix on the flip is uplifting and big, with those piano chords that just hit the right spot.
a four track ep with two tracks from incogdo (carl craig & derrick may) and two tracks from kenny larkin. very rare tracks, this is massive, with real crossover potential for house-heads, lindstrom fans, classic techno freaks, disco re-edit bods etc etc etc. i have attached mp3 clips for you to check. see >tasteful< artwork below (check for tracklisting), also comes in a >blood-spattered white disco sleeve..>!

a stunning house track with warm chords and a bad ass deep bass line and hypnotic and soul full vocals on top in the typical style of track mode producers (larry heard, rick wade, alton miller, brett dancer). this is the club banger for all house djs for the coming period!!
as the 3rd single of j.s.s. s monthly release project, this includes a remix by carl craig !!! kiyotaka fukagawa aka calm (aka organlanguage and k.f., and the owner of music conception label) and kazuyuki shimizu aka herbest moon (also known as the rapper of tha blue herb and the owner of that label, the blue herb rec), combine here as the duo japanese synchro system and started their new project. this time an original song features the rap by kazuyuki shimizu under the name of ill-bosstino (you may never have heard of japanese rap, though) and that remix by carl craig, who has been dropping amazing songs in the market. speaking of remix, we can say it uses the voice of ill-bosstino rather than making his words stand out. either of them are mighty song. and an insert with japanese rap and english translation will be included, so it makes it possible for the people all over the world to feel that everyone lives on the earth are thinking about the same things when they are on dance floor, with enjoying crazy dance music...ltd repress
taken from the aptly titled sacrilege lp of remixes from 1997. here we have a 1-sided 12inch featuring carl craigs bladerunner mix. so hows it sound? well its one of those that never drops, instead building on a rapid fire set of hand-claps, some nice little filtered synth fills, a little bit of vocal. basically those elements twisted, turned and arranged in the way only carl craig can (or did in 97)
support comes from chloe, simon baker, rob mello, nuno dos santos. two face was featured on the recent moodmusic 10 years mix-cd by sasse, with a softbottom bass but hardhitting percussion and synthwork, this has been a secret weapon for many. lars sandberg aka funk d void loved the original so much that he promised to deliver a remix - and he did. slamming claps combined with a early strictly rhythm stabs and immense breakdowns drives this to the top. watt zone is a totla diffent beast, based on a more house feel, combining dreamy synth yet driving beats , this will be a hot one for the more discerning floors
check track 4 >> a massive carl craig rmx!!!! original versions are aken from the massively acclaimed and already touted by many as an album of the year >sound of silver<. with its emotive refrain and rhythmic precision >someone great< was recognized critically as an album standout and has become a key part of their live set. its release is backed by a spectacular array of new and exclusive mixes of other s.o.s standouts in the form soulwax (>get innocuous<), carl craig (>sound of silver<), sorcerer (>us v them<) and gucci sound system (>time to get away<). award winning artist/ filmmaker doug aitken is currently shooting an experimental short film for >someone great.< doug aitkens work has been exhibited extensively at museums and festivals throughout europe and the u.s. his most recent work, >sleepwalkers< , was commissioned by moma
