iib s latest release is an ep from the clandestino crew. first track is a slo mo cosmic melodic acid dub. a beautiful early evening trip. this is remixed by the beat broker who adds a few sublime uplifting west coast sprinkles. the first track on the b side is a solid disco tinged house beauty with synth stabs subtle acid undertones claps and a great sample. the final track is beyond the sun. a mellow eastern tinged sundowner featuring another great sample. this ep really captures the original iib sound and philosophy. a real gem.

samuel l. session, a techno producer from sweden who founded the labels sls and cycle and now runs the klap klap imprint. apart from that, he has released on drumcode, soma, music man and kms records. in 2007, samuel l session was featured on kms 091 - kevin saunderson’s release – “history elevate 2” with a remix for “pump the move”. now in 2015, samuel l session presents his second artist release on kms records with “the talkbox ep” the talk box ep kicks of with an “original mix” that is a dark, deep & groovy. detroit inspired techno pumper that features a deep bass line with haunting chords. move on next to the “concrete mix” which provides a bit more airy feel. on the b side the soulful groove b1 “birth of blue” featuring elbee bad providing whispering melodic vocal sprinkled on top an ever moving progression that even includes some great horn stabs. rounding out the ep is the b2 “birth of blue” featuring elbee bad & andreas saag, providing a groovy solo-esc piano, riffing throughout this already groovy number

christian viers is fast becoming a prominent name on uk underground house and techno circuits, either as part of lazlo dancehall alongside leon vynehall or his long running a1 bassline project. techno-focused releases on his own label, source unknown captured the attention of the ears behind the newly formed fina white resulting in the bad timing ep, which the label state is a strikingly clear indication of the distinctive direction they plan to take moving forward. title track bad timing is a straight up techno banger whose menacingly melodic low-end tones, relentless thump and rolling toms are the driving force behind its robust and looming groove. without time is a similarly complex percussive cut, but with its jungle inspired arabic horns, trancey synth-lead breakdowns and acid squelches, whilst uk house veteran nail offers a more direct 4/4 take on the track with his typically classy remix.

christopher scott leary aka ochre is someone who has established himself via his own means, namely his own bandcamp page, as well as on labels like baselogic, toytronic, with a stunning lp in 2004, benbecula. as such, dutch label shipwrec have snapped him up for a fantastic new ep that showcases his style, which touches on ambient and downtempo as well as lushly melodic electronica, in all its glory.

the index expands into its fourth chapter with a rich collection of tracks from key label artists marcel fengler, thomas hessler, echoplex and vril. label co-ordinator marcel fengler drops scion on the a1, a non-typical, deeper house-influenced jam with a floating, mind-melting soft-focus. abstract, crafty techno meets classic sunday-afternoon vibes in this unique offering. after his wonderful 4-tracker on imf003 promising talent thomas hessler continues his run with the melodic and stark journey track, the escaper. what is initially shrouded in mystery and melancholy opens up into a funky, us vs. uk-styled workout, snapping snares and reduced percussion driving the meandering synth theme. echoplex, who graced imf002, also returns with a suitably trippy and percussive number, entitled the relapse. building into a bleepy, freaky, acidic killer, complete with some cleverly deployed rave vocal samples, filtering in and out of the fluffy aesthetic, the long-serving polish master is still on top form. going for impact and stand-out sound design, vril offers thronwagen, a mesmerising arrangement of synth layers, classic techno stabs and overlapping themes. already well-known for his powerful drums and bottom end control, this more musical piece goes a long way to showcase some of the german producers many other talents.

brilliant new balearic house ep from copenhagens music for dreams label. the opening track came to life when two danish djs - mads dalholt and zimino - made their own remixed version of al jawalas *go east* for playing out. mfd label head kenneth bager heard it, loved it, tested it out on his coma club dancefloor and it drove the crowd nuts with people literally screaming for more rewinds of this pumping horn-blasting oriental in-your-face party track. if you are a fan of acid arab and 80s leo mas/afredo style amnesia dancefloor madness then this one is for you. on side b we have the debut track from mads dalholt and partner landers - *zengo* is a sexy uplifting house groover with spacey keyboards, afro vocal hooks and a lively sax. followed by a second landers/dalholt cut, the slower more balearic *aelba* is built around a simple melodic guitar riff with some mellow xylophone bringing a warm sunshine feel. great debut for the young danes.

dense & pika return to hotflush with their first original material since last year s smash, colt . meanwhile they issued a chart-topping remix of paul woolford s erotic discourse with a signature bombast that carries over into the present klank ep. six tracks leave plenty of room for variety, however, from the toecap shuffle of the eponymous lead track to bad ink s melodic grand designs, through slacker s binary jack and the pared-down house groove that is slowhand , not to mention the aquatic depths explored by wandering hands , we see dense & pika s muscles at full flex.

mallorcas dakpa has been on a roll since amam released his debut ep last fall. he has contributed to several compilations, including amams own hand out series, kina music s fade to k pt. 3 and wizz vinyl s sonar sampler 2014, plus eps for labels like district raw and serial number 849. but amam gets the honor of issuing his first own vinyl release, the distres ep. the opening title track is an exercise in jacking minimalism, vibrant tech house with just the essentials, but more than enough to get the floor moving. then, ademus gets into a slightly more colorful groove, with tropical percussive interplay and some whooping voice for a humanistic accent (is that brigitte bardot?). on the flip, virgo gives a modern update to the frenzy of acid house. the title alone brings virgo four to mind. on that note, this one is an effective tool for warping minds and evoking spastic dance moves. finally, the dependable gaetano vinci a.k.a. hooved reinterprets ademus with a heavy dose of melodic funk and symphonic washes, making the track into an entirely new creation.

back with his second ep on truesoul after his impressive kilimanjaro ep, dubspeeka has tossed out more attitude with his new noise ep. keeping in the similar dubspeeka trend, his noise ep is dark and moody with interesting twists and turns to give this serious character. from the distorted drums of noise to the melodic synth line of usk dubspeeka has delivered an outstanding piece of work that should be commended with the highest honour. the preciseness of his synths and vocal swirls separate this from other projects and shows the class and enigma that dubspeeka is capable of.
