whereas the planck constant mix is kicking a hypnotically lead-sound, turning detroit influenced at some moments. jayg05 ends with a very loud side b, focusing on 2 basic elements: kick and percussion. drummer 404 on side b features a real massive kick and saturating percussion. a sound you havent heard in a long time.

some proper quality house music on the 3rd and final part in the golden age trilogy by giles and martin aka the two armadillos. think larry heard, norm talley, delano smith and the likes! the a side once again is club track with a modulating, moody heavy, heavy bassline and lots of atmosphere. definitely one for big rooms but for deeper 5am moments with its strings and fluttering hypnotic keys. this has been going down a treat in both giles and martins dj sets for some time. >detroit dancer< has a jazzy scat drum programming, keys, plenty of atmosphere and sparkling synth solos. last up the downtempo musical and downright lazy vibes of >majestic< with its stand up bass, strings and keys play out and signal the final track of the trilogy of releases.

record store day is synonymous with exclusive and limited releases and this year is no different. featuring a collaboration ep with adrianyounge from venice dawn and black dynamite fame and adrian quesada from the echocentrics, ocote soul sounds, brownout and grammy-winning grupo fantasma. a first name is not all adrian younge and adrian quesada share, they also both have an equal love of the psychedelic, the cinematic and at the root of it all, soul music. so it was inevitable that a collaboration would eventually come to fruition. mutual admirers of each others work, they first met at the sxsw music festival while on the same bill. both began their production careers on mpc and taught themselves various instruments to further capture the symphonies heard in their heads. fresh off his current solo project something about april under the moniker venice dawn, adrian younge found time to create all new tracks with adrian quesada who just released his echoland tribute to timbaland with the echocentrics. although both are distinct artists in their own right, they are cut from the same cloth with a signature sound thats equal parts morricone, early portishead, wu-tang and 60s psychedelic cinema soundtracks. their combined efforts on this ep guarantees a double dose of the sound we have come to expect from these talented individuals.

the collectable artifact imprint is taking a detour from incendiary and obscure disco re-issues into releasing even more obscure material. mysterious italian electro-wave band cristalli liquidi are featured here with a killer rare italo gem produced by tinto b. (also known for robots are un-american, re-released on italians do it better last year). inspired by a lcd soundsystem song tinto b. comes with this great record! we cant find the connection to the lcd soundsystem track that supposed to have been his source of inspiration, and actually we dont care... its some of the best recent italo disco we ve heard in a while! if you are big on italo vocals the a side is for you, if instead you dig deep electro disco but without the chanting, the dub version on the flip side will more than certainly send you into italo space. another hot artifact release from mr. bottin. tip!
