theres plenty of fresh faces in dance music and theres plenty of legends, but how often do you come across a legendary fresh face? christian taylor aka dj kon is about as fresh as it gets and yet has been doing it since before most of us knew how to cue a record.

vulkandance started as a party for african dance music in berlin in 2010. the amazing feedback and success of the party led nomad to turn it into a series of events and into a concept (including theme based decoration and sometimes catering) that travelled and hosted some of the cream of afro and global funk/disco djs, including legends such as beppe loda.

king street sounds and dope jams team up again in re-releasing more fine jewels from nycs heyday, all featured on the latters celebrated 2012 classic house grooves offering. essential and immortal dance music reissued for generations old and new.

disco bloodbath recordings latest is the debut solo release from one of the founders and original residents of the disco bloodbath clubnights, dan beaumont - formally of production duo jam factory and the man behind london venues dalston superstore and the newly opened dance tunnel. reality checkpoint is an atmospheric mid-tempo house chugger based around judicious use of samples and a slight dub-reggae sensibility to the groove. the original is accompanied by two alternate versions - one from neville watson, which pushes the track into club territory, and one from dan himself, which strips things back, further accentuating the tracks dub overtones.

africa friends is a tribal-inspired tech-house track with a lot of driving elements. the remix of yapacc however is rather a remixer typical interpretation somewhere between funky minimal and melodic techno. another centerpiece of this ep is the remix of quenum, who founded the imprint cadenza along with luciano a few years ago. as a small gimmick nicolas duvoisin serves an additional groovy track called people dance.
