we are proud to unveil the seventh release on telefonplan, osirus ep from anders hellberg, a berlin based producer and dj from south sweden. with osirus ep, it is immediately clear that anders is a fan and follower of the old school techno with elements of detroit techno and acid. four righteous slabs of hardware goodness is on the menu this time, all served tight and driving. from the opening track *beyond the stratosphere* with its pulsating rhythm and hypnotizing chords to *gondor*, a heavier, darker and dubbier acid anders showcases his uniquely modern flavour of techno. on the flip, *osirus* is a floor burning chord jam and *respond* finishes things perfect with hypnotic melody.

the latest ep to come from the detroit grand pubahs label detelefunk is dj and producer k alexi shelby with >i can go<. kaay is one of chicagos true heroes and cited by many as a pioneer of the citys sound. this is his unique smooth blend of techno and house, as kaay calls >tecsoul< (which is also the the name of his own label) that attracted the eye of the pubahs with a track titled >i can go< featuring kaays own vocals, and the heavy female breathing.

the affectionately titled ep, >der kleine elefant<, intends to tell its listener the story about a tiny elephant who is on a huge journey through mountains, deserts, seas and forests where he hunts to fi nd food and water for survival. in each encounter through the magical land, the small animal meets mystical creatures and watches in amazement at the stunning landscapes he finds himself wandering through. each track sounds like a modern day nursery rhyme and our elephant, the hero.

the waiting is finally over! after all the ups and downs of the past year, we can happily report that joshua eustis now firmly intends to continue telefon tel aviv as a solo project. in order to mark his decision with a bang, thewonderful title track >immolate yourself< is being released as the second single from the current lp. the song has been entrusted to highly acclaimed and diverse remix artists who have skilfully stripped down the epic album track to more club-friendly formats.
the a side is delivered by label-mate thomas muller, whose finely detailed techno soundscapes can now be enjoyed on five bpc 12 inch releases. his >immolate< remix takes a much more direct approach. he reduces the lush arrangement of the original to a powerful basic framework, leaves out the vocals almost entirely, and creates a surprise when the track crumbles into sonic chaos towards the end.
miss fitz aka maayan nidam has had singles released on labels including raum musik and freak n chic, and these have been remixed by renowned artists such as ricardo villalobos. her version of >immolate< also makes a clear break from the album track and serves up her very own brand of abstract, dancefloor-friendly house. once again, all the opulence of the original is thrown overboard, a dry beat is placed at the centre of the arrangement and enriched with sinuous vocals.
ben klock needs no further introduction - he is the epitome of the bleak, hard minimal sound. his album >one< is currently available on ostgut ton, and as a remixer he has earned the highest acclaim for his version of depeche modes >peace<. bens >jack mix< is fittingly titled and lives up to all the expectations of the name. the track is stripped back to a resounding, hammer-like beat framework - minimised for maximum effect.
bpitch legend sascha funke delivers a surprise with another astoundingly reduced remix, at least by his standards. he turns away from the melodic richness of his current album >mango< in favour of repetitive fragments and an extended arc of tension which will surely make his >immolate< remix a massive after-hour hit.

after almost a year hiatus the detroit grand pubahs are back with their detelefunk label. detelefunk being an abbreviation for detroit (det) electronic (ele) funk, they relaunch their imprint with a remixes series of some of their favourite producers remixing tracks from their last 3 albums. hence the title of the series being made up of words from all these album giving us the funtastic “buttfunkula and the remixes from earth”. this is the first of 2 volumes / eps that will offer new remixes, leading into a remix compilation featuring the finest remixes of the pubahs music from over the years. volume 1 sees the minimal originator himself, robert hood, take the reigns and remix the title track from the pubahs debut album >funk all y all<, while detroits underground resistance / interstellar fugitives dj 3000 takes one of paris the black fus first tracks >stalking you< (previously released on throw) and adds his albanian rhythms. finally, last but by no means least swedens samuel l session takes time out from producing for his own klap klap label to deliver this peak time dancefloor remix of the infamous >dr bootygrabber<. promising to take robert hood, dj 3000 and samuel l sessions on a galactic ass trip in their star ship was paris the black fu & the mysterious mr os way of getting them to do remixes. >now all i have to do is get them to deliver< comments paris from his secret lab >i do plan to bring them home after the remixes have been released. working with these artists has been a goal of ours for the past few years, and now that they ve been abducted may the funk be with all of us<

swedens speedmarket avenue are a a pop music collective led by a little guy who looks like a cross between charles manson and marc bolan. their new album is, without a doubt, one of the musical highlights in 2008 for all pop lovers! their debut album im going to let my new swiss army knife answer to that, was packed ful of jangle pop reminiscent of label 53rd and 3rd. the band have played various european festivals and collaborated with camera obscura on their lets get out of this country album thanks to the mutual connection of producer, jari haapalainen. under his direction, they ve now recorded their second album, way better now. an absolute beauty from beginning to end replete with precious pop melodies in a non conventional way, imaginative arrangements and an omnipresent trumpet. limited to 600 copies on vinyl.
