a compilation dedicated to the early 80s spanish synth wave and post punk scene! first to be published outside spain, this anthology explores the electronic music side of the independent music produced in the days in the iberian peninsula: synthetic pop music with industrial sounds including futurist art rock, dance-floor productions and low-fi experiments on cassettes. classics or true hidden treasures, this selection of nineteen songs is symbolic of the musical dawn that spain experienced during the decade marked by the return of democracy and by the creative freedom initiated by punk music.

als vorbote des neuen albums »yes« wurde am 13. märz 2009 die single »love etc« veröffentlicht. die pet shop boys beschreiben diesen song als »post-lifestyle-hymne«, die mit nichts, was sie jemals zuvor gemacht haben, vergleichbar ist.
chris lowe äußert sich begeistert: »dieses album ist beeindruckend. es war toll, mit xenomania zu arbeiten!« und neil tennant findet: »es ist ein fantastisches, weit gefächertes popalbum.«
auf mehreren songs ist johnny marr als gitarrist zu hören, die orchesterarrangements auf »beautiful people« und »legacy« stammen von owen pallett (last shadow puppets, final fantasy).

sydney’s post pluto are back with the debut no doors ep from riggles, a four track blend of crunchy beats and dusty house grooves. doomsday takes us back to 99 with a sun drenched edit of the classic mf doom beat. shine follows with a bass heavy groove and stretched out vocals. on the flip, perfect day gets moody with textured drums and back alley sax solos. sydney duo, sonderr, are on remix duties with a melancholic approach to shine, bringing it to a darker club atmosphere.

post scriptum is the latest artist to join the sonic groove records roster. previously releasing on functions legendary infrastructure imprint, post scriptum changes gears stylistically in a very big way with his latest release entitled until you drop. leaving his previous looped based purist techno behind, post scriptum takes his sound exploration into the much darker cavernous world of industrial techno.

florian kupfer, after a string of prestigious releases on ron morelli’s l.i.e.s. and russian torrent versions imprints, willie burns w.t. records, rush hour and ninja tune’s technicolour sub-label (lest not forget that white label sade bootleg), returns with a three track ep on private persons.
this 12 inch tells us the story of the beginning of florian’s career - his travels, dreams and of course love. title track “post present”, recorded for the first time five years ago get’s its first cut into wax. eerie, other-worldly voices reach over a kicking, distinctively kupfer-esque rhythm track. “i can’t love life without u” is a dub drive through retro-futuristic heartbreak and “&#1051,,,&#1102,,,&#1073,,,&#1086,,,&#1074,,,&#1100,,,” an ambient tip into the subconscious.

year zero is a first release on post scriptums own label and in a sense it is a manifesto defining it s musical identity. no space here for a sound targeting the current techno mainstream. there is dirt, and the pinch of imperfections, very characteristic of avant-garde electronics and industrial well known for the quite nearby past. on the a side, there are compositions appearing like shutters from experiments conducted in the secret laboratory. the rhythm is giving the appropriate weight, while the rest is a musical conglomerate of sounds and synthesis building up a feeling of anxiety. a swarming energy, a modulation, an uncertainty and lurking somewhere danger are surrounding us.on the flip side are remixes constituting the lighter counterpunch. motor eurhythmics bringing to life the old good detroit techno definitely of a dance-floor character, making this material ideal for an interesting set.

post pluto’s third release “abercrombie st.” brings together sydney based producers adam stromstedt, t.hanks and subaske for a diverse ep suitable for the dark room. all three producers bring their own flavour to the release which traverses tripping techno, booty shaking house and dubby electro.

bt12 welcomes itpdwip to brokntoys. founder of remote influence, a collective and record label pushing 70 s to 00s electronic music. taking an already taken decision takes on what post love would sound like with a doleful, melancholy interpretation of electro. dolphin s cry accommodates skipping, intricate minimal grooves. closing the ep haguenesse wind brings bass heavy, mechanical electro.
