nice price deal !!! the kooky scientologist should need no introduction - unless you dont get fred giannellis sense of humor. hes played everywhere, for everyone, and killed it every single time. smartypants, aka mike uzzi, has released on traum, sentrall, and of course zero g. he is a staple of the north east underground party scene. rounding out the compilation is zero g label boss eddie o., known for his releases as triton on both zero g and skor. the first minicompilation on zero g sounds features the best of the old school and new school. representing the old school is the legendary fred giannelli, aka the kooky scientist. this time around as the kooky scientologist, fred gives us a dose of what it really sounds like inside the head of tom cruise. demonetics rides a fat bass line, up-front stabs, and layered percussion. just when you think youve figured it all out, it takes a left turn as we are treated to freds signature quirky melodic noises

persistence is back with the third release, a new split ep with manuel di martino and the italian duo asylum with remixes by johannes volk and jeff rushin. the a side contains the original track of manuel di martino called necessary phase, engaging groove and hypnotic synth are the right adjectives to describe this track. volk,s remix is inspired to the new york techno scene with stomp drum, raw groove and marked synth. side b open with substance by asylum, this track contains dark and closed sounds, a real trip into shadows. jeff rushin revisits this creating a very functional tool, and especially the right mix of dark and dancefloor s sounds.
