scott monteith aka deadbeat is back on echocord with an absolutely killer ep. after his split ep with fenin on echocord colour this year, and his earlier ep with pole (d.p.) he is now back on echocord with his vampire ep. deadbeat is one scott monteith, a long time montrealer and recent berlin ex pat who has been releasing his own special blend of dub laden, minimal electronics since 2000, for labels such as cynosure, musique risquée, scape and spectral to name but a few. this continues in the same vain. dub is the key here and it is used with such class and insight. the flip sees a more twisted track that shows a slightly more edgy side.

this time its >the greasy beat<, the famed cvs / bootsy collins collaboration. continuing with the theme of claudes favorite producers - robag wruhme steps in for his first appearance on dirtybird. we are honored to have him on this release as he has heavily influenced both claude and justin martin over the years.
the other side features the young j. phlip, delivering her mad breaks/house version that always raises the roof at dirtybird events.
also, a super cool appearance by dop who made their debut on mothership last year as guests on the catz n dogz album. we are very happy to have them back for this special record.

alain ho aka dj yellow is one of the electronic music artists who established himself as one of the forward thinking artists in general. in the eighties dj yellow pushed forward french hip hop and he also had big influence on what french house music is today. with his label yellow productions (founded 1993 with his mate bob sinclar) he released artists like salome de bahia, dimitri from paris, joe clausell, bang bang and kid loco. with his second imprint poussez music (founded in 2003) he created an outlet for his own sounds.

this 3rd vinyl release of deep data contains exclusive tracks only which are not available digital. label owner rene breitbarth contributes with >wiggle trans< and >yaz< two groovers which continue the concept of the digital pendant drive e.p. further its main track >carrie< is remixed by well known producer jeff samuel (poker flat, trapez, spectral sound) who provides his definition of cool. another remix comes from deep datas toby deschamps who transfers carrie into his jackbox style. fresh!

after their great debut >motzbaz / indeed< on afao recordings and the following 12inches >hello kool nice< and <langenthal ep< on quintessentials recordings, which found its way into the bags and charts of djs like quarion, laurent garnier, jimpster and many more, jagged strikes back with a 12 on bonzzaj recordings. this single also contains a hot remix by the dutch multi-talented man aardvarck, one half of the rednose district. jaggeds productions are restrained and minimal in the right way - they doesnt let things get overloaded. they focuses mainly on straight beats and functional house music but always with the right ingredient of soul and rawness. the title track ten to twelve is a heavy cut with a lot of disco influences, funky basslines, cool house-grooves and surprising changes all over the track. the remix of ten to twelve comes from aardvarck, who releases on rushhour, kindred spirits and delsin. he transformed the original in an broken beat stomper, which sounds like it emerged straight out of londons co-op. the b-side contains chicago, a deep house number with forward going percussions, warm strings, oldscool-house-vocals and a slight acid flavour and last but not least the track an orange drippin, which takes you with its deep synth, percussions, basslines, bells and things in the deeper shades of…jagged nation. hot shit gesundheit

on his new album, pantha du prince, who lives in berlin and paris, claims: music slumbers in all matter, any sound, even silence, is already music. the mission, then, must be to render audible what is unheard and unheard of: black noise, a frequency that is inaudible to man. black noise often presages natural disasters, earthquakes or floods, only some animals perceive this calm before the storm. black noise is something archaic and earthy. the music on black noise balances precariously on the slippery threshold between art and nature, between techno and folklore, which lends it a certain spectral and intangible aspect. black noise also features a couple of special guests - noah lennox of animal collective sings on >stick to my side< and tyler pope of !!! and lcd soundsystem plays bass on >the splendour<.

meakusma starts a new series of special, limited releases. on 10inch vinyl and cd, a number of different artists will be contributing tracks, leftfield from the demands and expectations of any weekly release schedule. kicking off the series is madteo, who already prickled initiated ears with his releases on morphine and its sublabel lanquid.

fresh 2010 repress !! historia y violencia is a new project exploring the hispanic roots of santiago salazar (dj s2) and j. mendez (silent servant). both producers dissect their latin upbringings as a cinematic theme to create snapshots of the day-to-day blood and sweat that has shaped them as individuals. the sound takes cue from detroit, berlin and chicago to create classic, deep dancefloor tracks. santiago salazar started djing in the early 90s inspired by mix tapes his brother was bringing back from the gay underground scene in los angeles. his style has always been a mixture of house and techno. after moving to detroit, santiago began his music training with mike banks, label founder of underground resistance. he is also half of the duo ican (ican productions / planet e) who have been responsible for some killer techno releases. the central american born j. mendez cut his teeth as jasper in the late 90s/early 2000s, running the california-based cytrax label. a veteran dj from the age of 16, he has performed worldwide in clubs from berlin to osaka. along with technical wizards kit clayton and sutekh, he helped shed light on the small but influential minimal techno scene on the west coast. a chance meeting with karl oconnor in 1999 established a friendship that would later open the door to the sandwell district label in 2006. silent servants sound is a reinterpretation of early 80s post-punk electronics, paired with the deep, metallic sounds of basic channel and downwards.

this e.p. is a composition by two artists who release their feelings thru their music. g.marcell presents >breathe<. on this side of the e.p. breathe is a musical adventure were g.marcell expresses a time period of release from the everyday drama. sometime in our everyday life we need just a little relief from the everyday pressure of the issues we encounter. this is the reason for the inhale mix and the exhale mix. the inhale mix is the more laid back groove where as the exhale mix is the more energetic groove strictly for dancing. on the other side of the e.p. >necessary sanctuary< is amirs experience of the dance floor when he hit the club scene. the original mix is full of energy and a for sure crowd pleaser. the 3am mix is more of the mellow late nite groove. over all, the e.p. is something for everyone to relate to in one way or another.

the innervate label is on a roll and the last release featuring: pedro delgardo, fer br and dj mika did amazingly well! this funky piece of techno was a great release for the label.

roberto bardini is a deep techno producer from turin (ita). he is amongst the few enlightened producer/djs who declared independence from the current minimal-techno mainstream. his musical approach is by all means deep, and through this he casts his vision of a more mature and alternative dancefloor.
well known alongside labels such as shyan music and plastic city, in 2007 starts a collaboration with eclipsemusic and this is his second apparence named >new perspectives ep< features a slow-motion deep house vibes especially >through together< amazing synth texture running on pads pattern in classic robs style deep as the ocean, music with soul and appropriate track for sunset landscapes and beach time dancing, the titletrack >new perspective< is more techno oriented production with dub style chords and raw clipped bass, a new form of dub techno music better for dancefloor situations. rob confirms himself as a innovative deep man walking!

it was only a matter of time. two genre-defining artists together ... pop music and dance musics most famous arbiters of taste, collaborating at last. dj hells >u can dance< is an interpretation of an unreleased bryan ferry song, but its one that reflects a perfect melding of two distinct personalities, a record that sounds as if the voice and music were made for each other.
hell, of course, has been riding high on the success of >teufelswerk<, his masterpiece of a double album, a journey replete with fruitful experiments and club bombs. one that has yielded both massive hits and not a tiny bit of controversy along the way. ferry, meanwhile, has been as busy as ever—recording a new album, performing in places as far afield as siberia, opening up the cannes film festival ... basically just being bryan ferry.
and now here they are together ... it all started in 2006 when hell dropped in to meet ferry at his west london studio. at first they discussed hell remixing an old roxy music track, and then it turned into something else - something new (u can dance).
they had similar impressions of one another — hell: >i was impressed by his aura and his look.<, ferry: >he impressed us with his sophistication and charm.< fast forward a few years later, and hell is hard at work on teufelswerk and putting the finishing touches on the aforementioned song titled >u can dance<, a serpentine moroder-esque disco burner. with the help of old friend peter kruder, of kruder and dorfmeister fame, hell fashioned the song into a smoldering nine-minute highlight of the double disc set, in which ferry turns in a typically assured vocal performance.
ferry may seem like an unexpected fan of dance, but hes been going to clubs since he was a teenager, and in his lengthy career hes worked with legends such as nile rodgers of chic and david williams from michael jacksons band. >its always a pleasure to work with people from that genre, who follow a singular groove.<
the single follows in the wake of hells >the dj feat. p. diddy< which has won over floors and critics alike with its nearly 30-minute radio slave remix and fine work from the likes of deetron, jay haze and others. on >u can dance< hell and ferry have similarly pulled out all the stops for the remixes, gathering up work from the grammy-nominated producer carl craig, dfa mainstay tim goldsworthy and pop electro superstars simian mobile disco.

set to shine in 2010, mizz beats is the 22 year old from hackney (east london) who aided and abetted labelmate silkie in the creation of one of this years certified bangers: purple love. earning her stripes in the midst of the uks grime scene, she has already produced for the likes of dizzee rascal, jammer and lady sovereign and she is undoubtedly one of the anti social entertainment cliques brightest prospects alongside quest, silkie, kromestar, j5, harry craze and heny g.

after a year claudio mate is back on klap klap! and during this year he has worked on his profile, making it stronger and more known around the world. his lush but driving and emotional detroit inspired techno has really been gaining strength within the circuits of those who know. this record will not make his reputation weaker for sure. we believe it will make some heads nodding in the right direction. let the music speak for itself!

another fresh release from nublu. on the a side, in flagranti adds their own signature disco funk sound using a very catchy saxophone hook, making this a killer remix that is sure to light up the dancefloor. on the flip, i:cube delivers a classic deep cosmic techno remix. the 12 inch also includes two original tracks by the trio (whose bass player who also plays with sun ra arkestra) that encompasses jazz, indie and dance all at once, a sound that nublu is known for. the music is taken from the bands latest album release >peace now<.

fergie and excentric kicking off the year with ragaroo, a tense builder, winding things up to an uncontrollable level with a mixture of rising and just plain strange sounds, with the usual high production standards that you expect from a fergie track. on remix duties is jus phil (monu digital), who returns to the excentric after his shuffling and bass heavy remix of fergie - break-out from earlier in the year. his take introduces a low slung yet bouncy groove, hooking listeners in before using the weird craggy effects of the original to really take things to a new level of twistedness
