koos ludwig aka ion ludwig is a new part of the eklo team, the dutch guy is a close aide to the label since the beginning. he finally offered a wonderful two tracker to the eklo collection, full of mystery and grooves. ten canoes is a shamanic dub house trip, with futuristic and roots vibes, with a real story in it. on the flip, the realm is a house linn drum groover with an hypnotic bassline and an outstanding vocal. this ep is a vinyl-only release.

on their launch last september, australian label analogue attic promised to showcase the gentle side of electronic music down under. theyre as good as their word on this second release, which comes from rory mcpike under his rings around saturn alias. operating on a similar plane to the tactile, picturesque soundscapes of lord of the isles more spacey work, both erosion and portion 22 offer dreamy chords, becalmed melodies and sparse, spaced-out rhythms. there are a few sly winks towards vintage ambient house throughout, particularly on gypsy village, a luscious combination of liquid melodies and eyes-closed hypnotism. label bosses sean la brooy and alex albrecht go further towards vintage ambient territory on their sublime bathtime arrangement of portion 22.

london-based artist the room below follows 2014’s dba debut (as part of the 015.5 v/a release) with a mixture of classic and experimental house sounds. born in bristol, raised in dorset and residing in the capital, henry keen aka the room below has been djing and collecting vinyl for over 20 years. as soundspecies alongside his brother he was championed by gilles peterson’s worldwide show and london institution cdr. the alias ‘the room below” was coined to coincide with henry’s analogue re-working of close friend paul white’s ‘rapping with’ lp. since then he has maintained this alias for his house and techno composition. they pay homage to the legendary chicago and detroit artists that inspired him back in the 80’s and 90’s.

ben christensen is a multi dimensional figure in detroit’s musical landscape. for years christensen has played with a number of acts and has collaborated with many different artists in the city from a variety of different musical backgrounds. “inouno” is christensen’s debut 12&#8243,, on his newly found imprint sector 7g. “inouno” is 7 minute house groover that nods to the classic house sound of the 90s, while keeping it modern, soulful and funky!! definitely a new producer to watch out for!

the lost in time series continues with the fourth release in ralph lawson’s new imprint. the label releases timeless music from a collective of maestros including chez damier, tuccillo, carl finlow and debukas. after the recent license of ‘hold over me’ to no 19 music the crew return to the mothership for ‘lost on the island’. a 3 track ep recorded between studios in leeds, paris and ibiza from lawson, finlow and tuccillo. the final mixing was carried out at unblock studios in ibiza after a series of excursions to very diverse places on the island.

statue is a new percussion-based dance project erected by two unique drummers, tom gould and nicolaas oogjes. having become known for laying rhythmic foundations of seminal melbourne dance bands worlds end press and no zu, the pair have now joined forces to unveil statue, a strange new landmark in the dance music landscape. combining raw material from synthesizers, and a combination of drum machine and live percussion, statue is a monument to the human element of dance music culture. drawing upon inspiration from the organic rhythm of acts like floating points, pachanga boys and ricardo villalobos they have forged a deep, minimal and unique signature sound that has taken shape in this debut release. commissioned by cutters records, built casts a peculiar shadow on the dance floor. prepare to be moved by statue!

oniris returns with new ep on astropolis records. this 4-track maxi includes a gregor tresher remix and has been composed with the same ingredients that made his the fame of the producer: a melodic techno and a smooth universe in which groove accents coexist with more obscure sounds.

fumiya tanaka s double-tracker >beautiful town< was fully inspired by its cover artwork: a set of carefully selected old pictures with a layer of masterful signature paintings by romanian artist and fine-arts student bonjour bonsoir. a-sides >abacus avenue< is the ep’s most dense and eerie side. an addictive piece that utterly succeeds in sucking you right in like a vortex would. the locomotive bassline serves its purpose of movement in a strong loopy groove, while the pads and poltergeist y sounds reformat our heads with an inability for space-time tracking. the otherside of this town, >himegami marathon<, is another mysteriously intricate work. its a microcosm of grooves, sinister details and voices locked in a tight groove built on a single bass stab and a flowing, never-ending set of wet claps. a piano kicks in at key points, alongside percussive elements, reminding us that this town is alive.

pawas is someone we have admired for a while for his work ethic and talent. his multicultural background was a nice mix into the equation as we push to bring together and collaborate with artists from various regions and influences.

the first release back in 1997 on 4 track records was by dj hyperactive titled p.51 and here were are nearly 20 years later and we’re going to see the next release again by hyperactive on vinyl again titled “black on black” ep. this ep will be three tracks, 2 which are acid tracks and one long experimental spaced out track.

we have started a new project from a new part of finish team records only on vinyl. for the first release we have made a 4 track e.p. with the main artists of the label: manu p, andrea rubolini, aumrec & gabriele orsini. first track is composed by manu p, and is named el torito. is the perfect track for the summer time, with a latin tech house with a huge bass and melodic voice, perfect for the middle of the night set. the second is a track by andrea rubolini (the crowd), also here a huge bass during all the track and a melodic synth that characterized the track. the third track by aumrec (elonove), is more techno, with lot of strange and secret minimal part and a solid and fresh kick. gabriele orsini also composed the fourth track (the suspect), a techno and intense travel trough the dark techno scene.

* rust* is the debut single from the new collaborative project between harry agius (better known as midland) and vocalist robbie redway. the project was formed in leeds, written in london and finished in berlin under the influence of ewan pearson. as midland, harry agius has built a reputation for releasing delicately brilliant bass driven house and techno, and over the course of his various releases he has hinted at a desire to explore sounds away from the dancefloor. coupled with the songwriting talents and vocals of robbie redway, *rust* is the first taste of that exploration.

hnny, finally back on studio barnhus after debuting with that legendary mariah edit way back in da ‘11. oh, how weve missed him and oh, what a triumphant return to the motherland this impeccable 12 is three pieces of naturally flowing happy-sad house music glazed with that sweet, golden, sticky stuff. artwork by malin gabriella nordin. beauty is everywhere, wed say its most easily found on this record though.
