kirlian camera are one of the pioneers of the italian electronic scene. active since 1979 under the name suicide commando, the band changed name in 1980 releasing the first demo-tape dawn and the self-titled mini-album in late 1981. the early records contain a mix of synth pop and new wave/dance songs, while towards the end of the 1980s kirlian cameras music became darker, turning into electro-gothic sound. nearly every release since then has explored different fields, from industrial to ambient and trip-hop.

>how are we doing?< is counter-balanced by the fragility and subtlety on the flipside. >a second earth< is a laid-back and emotional retro-futuristic techno track overflowing with sadness and melancholy, echoing the sounds of the artificial-intelligence era. like a lost vessel drifting through space this track captivates and terrifies at the same time. a beauty and a beast!

after successfully releasing the debut of egyptian nipples (duo act formed by massimiliano pagliara and jules etienne) with the 5 track ep back but half apersonal music now reveals the remix pack for the mini album, commissioning 4 experienced producers seeking to maintain the high quality and old school vibe of the original tracks

*it all started in 1974 with the purchase of my first mini moog and another 70s dream machine, a white mellotron m 400.* so starts klaus hoffmann of his 40 years love affair with the mellotron. moving from prog-rock guitarist to cosmic disco warrior in a space of a few years, the birth of cosmic hoffmann would lead to a number of classic kosmiche albums through-out the 1980s. before this though came space-disco. initially recorded in 1978 after endless late night sessions exploring the new realms of this free form electronic music, the first incarnation was recorded live to tape for a failed film project. an uplifting spaced-out synth journey, it was the later reworked version that would go on to become the lost cult classic. with added disco syncopation taking the track into interstellar spheres, it appeared only as a flipside of cosmic hoffmanns first and last single, *weltraumboogie*, in 1982. unfortunately the release did not make much impression at the time but has become highly sought-after for the more leftfield dj and music lovers in the years since. now fully licensed and remastered, the inclusion of the unreleased 1978 original will be only add to the collectors dream.
