new year, new release and a new local talk member to introduce to you all - lets all welcome merrick. this young wiz kid steps up to the plate with a three track sweaty and headstrong release for our local talk off shoot ltx. developed deep inside his sound lab somewhere in europe, using dark grooves and dusty chords as the foundation - this release leaves you in no doubt where his current position is - in the club. from the opening track do that with its chunky grooves and warm basslines via the scene, a basement deep house track that ll satisfy all the moodymann fans out there. the last track, devils dance, keeps us hypnotically locked from start to finish with its rich and warm chords, have a listen - youll understand why.

six months after their last installment, shir khan and exploited drop another hot to trot collection of disco edits. as usual, there is much to excite, beginning with the familiar guitar solos, rhodes keys and dub disco pulse of antilopes *singing ghost* rework. death on the balcony keep up the reverb and delay-laden dub disco theme on *addict for your love*, whose rubbery groove, twinkling pianos and heady vocals have been expertly rearranged to fit house dancefloors. finally, matpat go loop crazy on the thumping disco house cut *only you* which sits somewhere between rahaan and soundstream. excellent stuff all round.

2015 repress ... willie burns and entro senestre team up for their second release on l.i.e.s. under the daywalker + cf moniker. big things on here! picking up right where last year s release left off, the title track supersonic transport turns out to be their most dancefloor driven effort to date. doing exactly what the title states, it moves in beautifully epic territories throughout its almost 8 minutes long course, taking you where you need to go. the b-side turns the floor vibes down a notch, as both tracks are left alone to breath in their own worlds, each with equal space and unique sonic character. ace release from these guys.

informa experiments volume 2 continues with the same concept as the last, 4 artists submit a bank of sounds and from these sounds each artist composes a track. a simple idea that proves very effective. this time the contributors are claudio prc (prologue), takaaki itoh (wols), ben gibson (chronicle) & deepbass (informa) each version has come out very different but all have a beautifully analogous feel. deep, pulsing hypnotic techno. the release will be available on 12 inch only.

the third 12 inch sampler taken from lukes unfinished business compilation series, this time featuring a lost dub of the nails classic hurt u featured as part of the kittens single back in the year 2000. nail is enjoying a fantastic and deserved renaissance at the moment and will felt it was high time let this baby loose. this is followed by another lost gem from the wonderful tak label. the last unfinished business compilation featured the timedwellers and now it’s time for collis king, look out for some unreleased gems to be featured on an ep from classic later this year. number 3 is the tripped out vocal classic from sandee - given some modern day remastering business a record that has proven to be totally timeless - and a stalwart at luke and kenny hawkes legendary space nights at bar rumba. and finally - lukes very own stop the riot - the first single he recorded with sam lynham from gramme championed by the likes of skream on radio one and nemone on 6 music - we felt the single deserved its very own place on vinyl.
