das label trojan startet eine neue vinyl-serie, um seine größten hits - jeweils nach genres sortiert - einer neuen generation an vinyl-käufern zugänglich zu machen. der erste part widmet sich dem -dub-. auf 180g schwerem vinyl gepresst, wurden unvergessliche hits aus der goldenen Ära der 70er jahre auf diesem album zusammengefasst. mit king tubby, prince far i, lee perry (the upsetters), prince jammy und linval thompson sind die großen namen des dub auf dieser compilation vereint. trojan records wurde 1967 von chris blackwell & lee gopthal (beide auch zu der zeit mit island records beschäftigt) gegründet. durch ihre persönlichen reisen nach jamaika knüpften sie die kontakte zu den wichtigsten produzenten und musikern der insel und bauten deren karrieren parallel in europa auf.
