disposición asoleada (spanish for sunny disposition) is the moniker of the ecuadorian music citizen³ david jarrín. active in the brussels psych and noise scene since 2003, his explorations range between acoustic lo-fi experiments to eerie soundscapes, from glitch electronics to raga oriented transfigurations on a six string banjo. lexi disques is proud to present his first vinyl: two atmospheric and tense pieces haunted by andean ghosts and the evocation of hidden voices in the spoil piles of history. lexi disques is a microlabel based in brussels since 2008 and specialized in 7”. it explores the possibilities of the short format on experimental or adventurous musicians from psych-pop to straight electronics, from local fresh faces to underground heroes.

ethimms second ep when in dark delivers the groups signature tension music with moods oscillating between suicidal heartbreak and conciliatory optimism. in the opening track why (a cover of the rhythm and sound classic), producer elisabeth thimm sets the stage for guest singer veronique to mourn love s loss, while brian gimmel s improvised piano licks hold strong agains the songs relentless bassline. the follow-up track late features lexx s dreamy lyrics gracing a subtle dance foor tune for spaced-out souls. the b side opens with ethimms love for dub. next is a freaked-out meditation on what has been and will be, while the fnal track done slowly creeps towards its peak, refecting on dark days where light may have not been much in sight, but going forward sees optimism, increased resolution, and drive.

leap is back! #006 of the catalogue offers two deep journeys by label operator a:lex on the a-side: “soul shower” cuts to the chase with dubby toms, shuffling hats, sharp-ass claps and an infectious warm synth progression that manifests that “body thang” referred to sample-wise. “long way to detroit” is a groover of a mpc-styled workout that stitches together various voices that comment on the city of cities all the while shuffling hard snares around a bubbling baseline - laid-back reminiscence guaranteed. the flip side features one hell of a funky jam entitled “places (live take)” ripped straight from a modular acid session conducted by the mysterious outfit richmond wagner. sparkling hats sprinkled over relentlessly warping bleeps and a thumper of a kickdrum will make crowds go off their heads during upcoming festival season as in any place alike.
