this one has been a long time coming. great 12”s never get shelved at lddlm, time is not the essence. benedikt frey has been part of the extended family since his remix of car’s idle eyes and we crossed paths a few times at robert johnson in frankfurt. init, his project with his other half nadia d’alò, has seen releases on neighbours such as hivern or correspondant, our door was naturally open to their pretty personal brand of “off-kilter techno” as ra says. stereometric is almost a definition of init’s acid mind. failing their own tricks, heavy atmosphere and unusual restraint. nuts is almost an instrumental extension of the title track, when your head finally hit that window pane. wheels slows the rush down, wandering on an imaginary khyber pass. this is only deception though, mindwork being a real exercise in post-goa trance. hope you enjoy the trip. see you after the summer.

ursa’s reef is a late 80’s traveller and surfer wandering endlessly in the secluded raves of goa, searching for his own soul while dancing in abandon to the proto-trance journeys of goa gil. brought up in sintra, portugal, by a family of uptight catholic hypocrites, ur goes rogue in his early 20’s, seduced by the esoteric teachings of levi, pessoa, crowley and israel regardie while keeping an unhealthy obsession with roxy music. he is also a fictional, made up persona - a musical heteronym - of lisbon-based dj and producer marco rodrigues, mostly known for his work under the name photonz. together with his friend jose acid - a musical heteronym of joao ervedosa aka shcuro - he makes one last trip to goa that could prove fatal.

indira paganotto returns with her third pooledmusic ep, featuring a pair of remixes from label boss ian pooley. having made her debut in 2012 aged just 19, indira has spent the intervening years honing her sound and exploring new approaches to music. currently based in madrid, paganotto s father was a dj in goa, where she spent a significant portion of her upbringing. having grown up with her father s collection of trance, acid & psychedelic rock records, paganotto s eclectic musical education has informed her music s individuality. her 2014 solo ep time out man blended these inspirations into a pair of evocative house grooves. this development continues with kashmir & savannah, both of which find the 24-year-old producer in confident form. ian pooley provides a pair of his own trademark dancefloor-focused dubs to complete a package that confirms paganotto as a new talent in the ascendancy.

this is the relaunch limited edition album (475 copies only, remastered from the original master tapes) of the male productions label. it contains theaoriginal songs of the true underground sound of rome from the rare and sought after ep released in 1991 on male records plus two unreleased tracks recorded in 1991. in italy during early 90 s after the disco era was time for the new born underground music movement. male productions represents the first italian electronic-house independent label, based in rome and managed by chicco furlotti, former club-dj and organizer of the early italian rave parties. this album features stefano di carlo and other big names from the italian electronic and house music scene like leo young and mauro tannino. we cant call this music as deep-house, ambient or techno because it s the true undergound sound of rome!
