reset robot has given us two tracks that are absolutely on fire. rebellion is a slow burning, after-hours groover that packs a punch and harnesses percussion elements to the full effect. the hanging gardens of babylon is a lot more of a melancholic offering and leads into a beautiful crescendo to finish any night off in style.

am anfang war der beat. dann kam der hi-hat club und baute ihm ein haus. soviel arroganz muss erlaubt sein, wenn wir die 7. folge unserer produzentenserie ankündigen. denn wahrscheinlich ist es nicht ganz vermessen zu behaupten, dass der hi-hat club so etwas wie das fundament der hiesigen beatszene bildet. twit one, hulk hodn, suff daddy, dexter, brenk sinatra, fid mella, full crate, fs green und dj adlib haben alle die goldene membercard. wahr ist aber auch, dass es bereits drei jahre her ist, seit der club zuletzt seine pforte öffnete. nicht, dass wir seitdem keine beats mehr gediggt hätten - ganz im gegenteil. beatplatten und gute beatmacher gibt es mittlerweile an jeder ecke. eine hi-hat club-platte aber sollte mehr sein und vor allem mehr wagen. wenn es in deutschland einen produzenten gibt, der genau dies tut, dann ist das für uns knowsum, jener jünger des sichtexotheismus, der am mic wie an den geräten einen pups darauf gibt, was hip hop darf oder soll. und so ist *hyasynthus* die mit abstand mutigste und experimentellste platte der serie geworden. ist das noch instrumentaler hip hop oder schon wieder krautrock? ist knowsum der stockhausen dieser beatszene, oder hat er einfach zu viele pilze gegessen? natürlich weder noch. *hyasynthus* ist eine blume, die nur sehr selten blüht, ein album, dass dem hörer einiges abverlangt und noch mehr zurückgibt. probiert es selbst, aber sagt nicht, wir hätten euch nicht gewarnt ...
