bergen’s christian tilt returns to norwegian label ploink with his debut album ‘alt skjedde jæla fort’ this september. norwegian christian tilt’s dedication to techno over the last two decades has securely placed him in high ranks to play alongside the likes of the zenker brothers, margaret dygas and ploink label head thomas urv at clubs such as berghain, jaeger and Østre - all in the last year. here though we see christian tilt make a return to ploink for a second time with a five track lp comprised of an intricate cross-section of syncopated rhythms and dubbed-out techno. ‘dos were the days’ slowly builds hi-hats and punchy kick drums, before a deep-synth melody drives the composition forward. up next is the stripped back ‘btl’ that combines otherworldly aesthetics with a steady bass rattle throughout, before the gritty ‘a visit from france’ unleashes a dark low-end, murky synth drones and frantic pad sequences. a relentless 9 minute affair titled ‘i only work late nights’ then swells and pulsates over an unremitting beat, before ‘Øreverk’ rounds off the package with frenzied clangs, muted hits and rhythmic percussion.

norway’s ploink imprint returns this april with a four-track ep from production duo dortmund titled sauerkraut featuring a remix from christian tilt. hailing from bergen, thomas urv and miss mostly’s ploink events have been championing the norwegian techno scene for over two decades. launched in 2014, the ploink label has hosted a string of versatile twelves from the likes of prins thomas, christian tilt, skatebÂrd and most recently mental overdrive, whoís innovative ëhardwareí album dropped in march. returning to the label since providing a track on ploinkís 20th anniversary release last year, hardware specialist dortmund, real name karl markus zavodny, is also well known for releases on montrealís turbo and leipzigís vocabula recording

celebrating 20 years, thomas urv and miss mostly’s ploink imprint drops the first in a trilogy of techno releases featuring the norwegian brand’s core artists.
the package inaugurates with oslo’s prins thomas editing tromsø legend mental overdrive ‘hellbent’ for a decadent cut featuring sinister drones and dusky atmospherics. urhaug, also known under his house alias tobii, demonstrates tantalising melodies and a chugging bassline in ‘7.3’ before ploink veteran nordenstam takes things into a rhythmic direction in ‘haustfargar’ using shuffling percussion, bouncy toms and spectral synths. christian tilt, another core ploink member, then drops the mesmerising ‘ord’ boasting industrial stabs, a throbbing low-end and cosmic effects. tying it all together, fresh bergen talent hutmacher concludes the release with a cacophony of grooves, samples and echoes in an arcane number named ‘dobbelgänger’.

for nearly two decades, ploink has promoted techno nights around norway, presenting local talent as well as some of the biggest acts from around the world. we just really like techno. our definition of the genre is fairly wide though, constantly evolving, which we have attempted to reflect in this our first release, compiling four very different tracks by local producers from our hometown of bergen. setting up a label branch has for years been a burried, old plan. to us, techno parties, no matter how unique and brilliantly planned, have such a short lifespan, and as such it feels good to finally start releasing something that can get a life of its own, perhaps grow into something entirely different.

theres no compromises. theres only true deep disco funky jazzy stuff. crazy nudisco miracle around you. let it flow & keep it real. dont sell your soul!
