rapids! play dark indie in their own unique style. hailing from the distinctly un-angular art punk town of bournemouth, the band have quickly come to the notice of bands and radio alike. opening shows for the likes of the chapman family and errors, the band have a live show that transfixes audiences. without any team around them in the early days, the band also gained notice from steve lamacq, john kennedy and tom robinson with steve lamacq interviewing matt holliday on air on his 6music show.

praezisa rapid 3000 are robert guschel, david junghans and henrik jacobsen. coming from different styles of music they found each other to start making music. loving techno, drum & bass, dubstep and indie they created the praezisa-sound: complex, harmonic, organic, which eradiates quickness through native instruments. in doing so there is much humor in this supposed to be earnest music. this ep tries to depict the spectrum of what the three guys love: from bass-music to easy listening – and house: good guy mikesh & filburt, known through releases on permanent vacation, liebe*detail and mirau give the debut of praezisa rapid 3000 a remix.

side a tech funk bass fuelled fresh as fresh can be sound. skanky bassline, ska style stabs and techno pads and tripped out synths send ya head way ward.side b takes on the same direction as the a side but comes in with a dreamy old skool vibe vocal to get the ladies excited, it seems to feel a lot faster than it actually is, energy flowing from each kick and snare. dont get the wrong idea when i say this track turns into a floater, were talkin hands in the air smiley dreamy touchy feely break beat! nice!

authors of the 4th release of the mosaique label are the project savage ground, known for its works on lux rec, pinkman broken dreams and enfant terrible. the project hides two people, daniele cosmo (owner of lux rec) and cco (who s already participated in the first v/a universe). in not is a mixture of synth wave, analog distortion, experimental dance electronic music and vocals. the ep contains 4 tracks that divided the two sides of the plate into two different moods. this is a vinyl release without digital sales and repress. limited edition, vinyl only, a&b sides 33rpm.

ima (intense molecular activity) is the duo of don hunerberg (synthesizers) and andy blinx (drums and percussion). based in new york city and active between 1979 and 1982. don, a studio sound / music engineer and musician, andy an electronic clothing designer, drummer and sound reinforcement engineer at downtown clubs like max’s kansas city, mudd club and cbgb. in between doing sessions at radio city music hall studios for groups such as ramones, richard hell, sonic youth, liquid liquid, john zorn, glenn branca and many others, ima took advantage of off hours to create their own music. as far as influences go, don’s background was in electronic music and andy’s in prog rock. to produce the songs, don used his own method of creating patterns from 2-track tape loops and then edited them together on to a 24-track recorder adding more tracks of overdubs, in a very similar way that sequencers are used today.

first single to be lifted from the forthcoming lp is a flawless representation of some of the freakishly danceable tracks contained therein. a wholly original mashup of electronics, my heart rate rapid is sheer falsetto laden, drum battering brilliance. although metronomys elliptical, insidious, multi coloured art pop sounds nothing like colognes legendary purveyors of prog disco, can do offer clues to the lineage the band belong to. add early brian eno, sparks, devo, talking heads, soft cell, and then scratch your head for more recent examples of abstract music, full of experiment, risk, and individuality that somehow resolves itself into pop that makes you sing and dance and feel like a big kid and you realise that you cant think of any, because metronomy are, in the current pop milieu, an utterly unique proposition.
