new to the all day i dream team is newman. his name literal. this new york based artist is at the beginning of what we believe will be a long career both through his emotive productions and compelling beautiful dj sets. the release itself sits at the more dance floor oriented end of the label. both breath of the souls and the long journey have been truly tried and tested at this point. solid grooves, wailing middle eastern emotive lady voices and strings. for our events, these are the peak time anthems. the ep also features when the leaves fall, closing out the release in blissful style, and a warm welcome for newman to our all day i dream family.

ltd repress !! this special one off collaboration sees young gun native berliner prodigy max graef, coupled with globe trotter fantastic man aka mic newman. with mic living in max s broom cupboard for a few vodka soaked weeks in berlin this autumn, there was a beautiful inevitability that some music would outcome. the lead track -soothe me- is no noodly shrinking violet, but a grade 10-cross-genre-dance-floor-destroyer which andy snapped up for label on first listen. clearly taking it s inspiration from the rhodes and sample drenched sound signature detroit label and adding in live instrumentation, tape effects, for a track rich in steely dan sensibility, coupled with a sub bass and twisted lead line dragging us into a new year. the b-side relaxin at the flip is a raw slab of analogue goodness, flying 606 high hats, a tough kick drum and simple elements driving the track forwards, best heard 8am in a dark corner of a club.

the chordz ep brings it with 3 hot new modern boogie tracks. label hero newman opens the release with the title track chordz, a synth-fuelled dancefloor banger, reminiscent of harvey sutherland s recent work. flip it over and ourra (aka simon tappenden aka pop out n play) brings us a truly tropical treat reminiscent of palm trees, pina coladas and 80s miami sunsets. last but not least, keyboardist for brian ellis, adam chini plays horizons of funk, a lush down tempo synth funk number bringing the ep to the perfect clo

this soundtrack remains so powerful and evocative it could almost stand alone from the classic western it accompanied. just close your eyes and it won’t take long for you to start conjuring up images of grizzled mountain men, intrepid wayfarers, murderous outlaws, boom-town mining camps, lines of covered wagons across the skyline and the great american outdoors that just seems to go on forever.
