héloïse ist seit 1993 (!) in verschiedenen projekten aktiv und das neueste soloprojekt der in zürich lebenden sängerin und musikerin sabina leone. mit ihrer zweiten ep „rubbish rubbish” erkundet sie mit gesunder gier unendliche musikalische möglichkeiten. ihre musik baut auf mehreren ebenen auf und kombiniert loops, um stimmen und trommeln zu hypnotischen rhythmen zu verschmelzen.

after his debut lp event horizon which came out earlier this year exploit shifts to exploring the inner space rather than outer space. melancholic downshift is full of synthesized string sounds and atmospheric arpeggios. the b-side, shift down, uses a similar syncopated rhythm for strings, but eventually developes into a large dancefloor-bomb.

exploit is back on mutex recodings with his 4th solo ep. >acid-base theory< is an acid-house dancefloor killer with a huge hypnotic build up and growling synth sounds. on the b-side exploit brings us some detroit-influenced stabs packed with solid techno groove in his >kung fu< track. this record is for sure one of his finest works to date.

the loin brothers are long john saliva and dj silvio, two dashing farmers raised on strobe lighting, fuzz guitars and pork spare ribs. this is their second original single and follows on from heavy helmet, the mock & toof remixed single that caught the attention of aeroplane, ewan pearson and ivan smagghe with ivan featuring it on his live at robert johnson mix compilation. on this outing the loins have pruned, mowed, fertilized and watered their way through the studio to create the garden of vargulf. the original takes off with a thumping bass guitar, orchestral string leads, the odd desert wolf howl and a real guitar soloà with a guitar no less.

exploits >beatbull< is an excellent modern tech-house/techno crossover stuff with catchy vocals, filtered piano chords and tribal groove. on the other hand >no harm< represents the dark side of techno music with its rumbling bassline and crazy siren sounds. last but not least is the epic remix of >no harm< served by one of most respected uk techno producers perc (perctrax, ovum, clr). he rebuilds the original into unique underground techno madness - big one!

bvdub and sofie loizou are two passioned artists who have a special collaboration on this southern outpost offshoot! sofie loizou is at the forefront of the electronic music scene in australia and brock van wey (bvdub)is one of america s most prolific electronical artists known for his excellent deep house and dubby techno releases! the ep is evocative and wistful, enveloping the listener in a dream state. the two made an equisite piece of lush ambient techno with vocals of the polish natalia grosiak (produced by polish sound artist dawid szczesny). the combination of natalia s enchanting vocals and exquisite textural sound beds creates a sublime experience of blissful melancholy. this is a highly limited run of only 200 copies... yeah we know.. it s crazy to have a bvdub collaboration this limited... but its just a fun project of southern outpost and friends! don t sleep
