1991, ministry of sound, larry levan ist am ruder und liefert eine flut von house-tracks, die zu dieser zeit sehr interessante raritäten gewesen wären. plötzlich tauchen die knackigen hi-hats von rare earths „happy song“ unter dem vollmundigen kick des tracks auf, was einfach großartig klingen musste. das publikum jubelte vielleicht aus vertrautheit mit dem mancusian loft-klassiker. das ging eine weile so weiter, um den tänzern eine schöne zeit mit der perfektion der einfachheit dieses beats zu bescheren, und dann, aus dem nichts, durchbricht die unheimliche basslinie von eurythmics „sweet dreams“ das frequenzspektrum, und man hat keine ahnung, was gerade passiert ist.
