jacks house makes its first move of 2019 with a third volume of various artist shenanigans pivoting around the crisp minimal house formula that has kept the label on track and in record bags thus far. rich nxt is feeling tracky and subtly spaced out on the heads down dubble, while politics of dancing comes correct with an insistent roller that finds its groove and stays there. julenns good company is a crafty, shuffling workout laden with deep chord pulses, and legit trips djedai- takes things in a freakier turn that should resonate perfectly with the after hours crowd.

hijacked records detroit is feeling inspired after hearing new work from one of our favourite allies in techno, jules wells. we felt it was our duty to deliver this to the people, three new productions from jules with a guest remix from our own antwon faulkner. please enjoy - -silent orchestra.- the title track from jules really set the bar for this release. jules really understands story telling with music and this track transports you to a time in techno that was both hopeful and beautifully heart breaking. a persistent chord progression is wrapped in celestial synth harmonies filing up the space all around you and reaching in. that classic clap is underpinned with a touch of acid, creating an edge. at the 4:33 mark an enchanting and haunting sign wave tells a melodic tragedy. strings come in delicately but wash over you completely. this track is both stunning and devastating.

following the exclusive heavy mix compilation that jimi jules knocked out for us recently, its time to deliver on those exclusives via two eps from the man himself and we kick things off with ep number one, midnight juggernaut where jules studio prowess is on full display with three stellar originals including a remix from the mighty recondite

following the success of the retro-zouk mixtapes series (4 volumes / 15k plays on soundcloud), secousse radio proudly presents its first official vinyl reissue of a long lost zouk banger. originally released in 1993-1994, those two tracks have been road-tested in various clubs and parties for months and the feedback is clear: its dancefloor devastation business. their author is jules henri malaki, an established and self-produced artist from guadeloupe. as the popularity of zouk music keeps growing every day in europe, america and asia, just whisper the name makiyaj to any of the best djs from the current tropical diggers scene and watch their eyes scintillate. this secret weapon shall not remain secret very long.

label friend jules heffner is doing his debut on terrace trips. -swamp- kicks off with some jungle sounds and a deep dotted bass line. guy from downstairs (gfd, robsoul) serves a smooth remix with a rolling morphing bass line and some crisp percussion hints. on the b-side -wharf- is with his flurry synths more like a fata morgana tearing you in some wet fantasies. a remix of this one is coming from anatol who just uses some synths from the original and a simple 303 bass line which turns the track in a more minimalistic direction you better use nobite on this one.

french producer jules etienne reappears with a 3 track ep including a jex opolis remix on barcelona s finest disco imprint apersonal music. jules shows his most elaborated work to date evolving to a more band oriented production filled with plenty of live instruments and vocals as seen on free as a man and dont want to talk about it. on the b side rhythm for the garden part i is a mad ride driven by live percussions and a drum machine. canadian producer jex opolis whos been releasing top stuff through his own good timin label comes on board on the release remixing free as a man. guilty pleasures all around

whities 014 is by londoner and master digger, jules venturini. it’s a 3 track 12” of discordant choral euphoria with artwork designed by alex mccullough.

jules etienne has been skirting around labels such as apersonal music for a few years, but here makes a strong statement with a new record for cocktail d amore. triangle des bermudas is a swinging yet cosmically inclined jam powered by warm synth arpeggios, which regular collaborator massimiliano pagliara then nudges up into crafty deep house territory. cuban omlette is a delicate affair that interweaves pattering percussion and nagging synth lines to make a particularly heady brew before johns job finishes the record off with a richly layered drum track that should have djs across the board getting tricky in the mix.

jules elipse (elipse music) is known for his eclectic output - here he tackles the jungle genre with characteristic aplomb! featuring three ragga-infused cuts of authentic 94/95 style jungle at or around the 160bpm mark, with hyper-syncopated drums, ragga chants and a devilishly dark mood prevailing over the tracks - 7th storey projects presents the dogheart ep.

the cocoon recordings very own inhouse compilation series dots and pearls is back once again and takes us on a tour to the expected sounds of the upcoming spring season. frankfurt based christian burkhardt starts the selection of four exclusive and previously unreleased tracks. his -karambolage- breathes spring air and creates an early summer feeling par excellence. this tune will even turn gray and rainy april weather into bright sunlight. on spot with playful and positive harmonies and a very subtle 80 s synthie-pop flavour. this one here definitely makes us want more! next in line is argy, one of our most long standing cocoon recordings artists. his -how late it was, how late- has an undeniable 80s retro charm, too however it follows a completely different direction than burkhardts -karambolage-. this one refers strongly to an early 80s acid sound and reminds us of great productions such as -on and on- by jesse saunders. we cannot tell how far argy s reminiscences goes back but for the ones who know: -how late it was, how late- will bring you back to the great times of labels like rams horn and their rational youth s -dancing on the berlin- wall. brave and surprising at the same time and above all: -übercool-! with -baroon- by markus fix follows another acid track - however, this one has a far more epic flavour full of warm analogue strings and based on a hypnotic arrangement. fix -baroon- is defintely less retro than argys and burkhardts contributions - a deep tech house gem made for the first sunrises of the upcoming allnighter open airs. with -euphrasia- jim jules accelerates slightly but goes also deeper at the same time. his production follows the cinematic mood of markus fix but paints a darker picture. this one takes us on an intensive musical journey. deep, slightly gloomy and extremely hypnotic, -euphrasia- is almost captivating and bewitching and a perfect conclusion for this highly diversified fourtracker.

brutaz unleash their first three ­tracker coming from jules venturini, a continental expat supposedly having ties with a famous nunmetal band and a certain second­hand record shop. shameless melodies joined with a darker, churning grooves, pushed to the edge of with a gentle dose of distortion.

jimi jules has a small but perfectly formed discography. equinox on zukunft is his debut album, and sees him successfully expand his musical repertoire beyond the club-ready deep house he s known for. thanks to the use of musicians - drummers, guitarists and such-like - there s a loose, warm and quietly soulful feel throughout.
