the very awaited vinyl release of this 2013 digital work of the french frederick barbe aka cold colors with the ukranian oksana rodionova aka xiu. the included tracks are somewhere between classical synthwave and light and extremely peaceful coldwave without loose the dj friendly approach characteristic of past cold colors productions. xiu s eerie vocals gives a new dimension to cold colors extremely elegant and simple analog sequences... this is a truly plastical jewel!. all tracks have been analogically remastered specially for this vinyl version.

cold colors was born in bordeaux, france, in the mid 70s. his passion for music, particularly new wave and melancholic atmospheres, started early and strongly influenced his own creations years later. the first records he ever bought were the cure, depeche mode and soft cell. in the 90s, frederick bought his first guitar and composed songs under the name agent orange. in 2002, the cold colors project was born, with a release on the excellent lux records, as well as many live performances. fred loves working with machines. his music mixes warmth and melancholia, an obvious homage to cold wave and new wave, by blending todays electronic music with the melodic sounds of yesterday.

after starting to produce almost a decade ago and steadily releasing music since 2010, eastcolors has worked with some of drum & bass finest talents including enei, clarity and with big upcoming names such as traffic & noel. often an unsung hero of the scene, eastcolors debut album on demand records sees him rise as one of russias forefront producers. *lighthouse* is without doubt one of 2015s most honest and diverse albums of the year, covering drum & bass and beyond in a versatile and uncompromising way only eastcolors can. a vision of a young artists music translated into a magnificent 16 track journey, this lp is the rare type of release that is enough to satisfy serious music fans, producers and djs worldwide. it is about time the world woke up to eastcolors. the 6-track 2x12 inch includes the full album on cd.

the weird house music composers from brazil strike again with four slices of spaced-out dance floor sounds. psychedelic is just one of the adjectives that come to mind when hearing brazilian duo colors sound system. on their first single for lovemonk, sao paolo brothers jota wagner and wander a, who call themselves weird house music composers, continue on the path to a higher state of consciousness with four slices of mind-altering disco and house splashed with spacemen 3-like vocals and seventies prog guitars and organs. just listen to the almost eleven minutes of *ar* if you dont believe. or *1974*. or *poeira lunar*, for that matter. the beatless title track is the only one staying under the seven-minute limit, and it is also the last track on the ep, like a much-needed comedown. space is the place, as the great sun ra said.

nice price deal !!! vladivostok lad eastcolors is probably most well-known within the dnb community for his mixes and for his collaborations with enei and nuage. as far as modern drum and bass is concerned eastcolors is at the forefront of that techy, fresh sound emanating from eastern europe and russia. with this in mind then, it is clear that while his tunes fuse well with his fellow russian drum and bass cohorts, eastcolors is making a departure from collabs. what better way to celebrate demands tenth release then, with eastcolors settings about placing his name upfront and alone with his first ever solo 12 inch. on the flip >heavy tone< rumbles forth with a typically eastcolors take on what a roller should be. lenzman-esque synths and strange, celestial vocals are quickly worked over by an electrical storm of droning bass and pads. as the synths return to break up the clouds here and there, >heavy tone< loses the idea of becoming another lost bass-heavy roller and settles into being a multi-layered piece of quality drum and bass.
