2018 repress - stuart leath flexes his contacts book with an all-star cast of producers and respected scalpel artists called on to rework cuts from the recent never seen the dunes ep by khidja.

2018 is going to see the bond between khidja & malka tuti strengthen, with the romanian duo bringing forward their eclectic, cross-genre approach to electronic music in the shape of 2 full releases as well as several remixes tba. -plot- & -am i really here- are two dance-floor bangers, not hiding behind fashions and hype, the duo is pushing forward on both tracks, each with its own idea and story to tell. this one continues malka tuti’s 12” dance series perfectly, with both tracks being pressed on 45rpm and getting each its own side.

dark entries and emotional rescue team up to further explore psychic tv’s acid house years. psychic tv was formed by genesis p-orridge and peter christopherson of throbbing gristle with alex fergusson of alternative tv in 1981. after various line up changes, the band shifted direction to dance oriented songs influenced by the house and techno scenes of detroit and chicago. by 1988 the group included dave ball of soft cell, fred giannelli of turning shrines and matthew best of carcrash international. during the summer of 1988 the group recorded a batch of songs at time square studios in london that would appear under the guise of various artists compilations jack the tab’ and ‘tekno acid beat’. the idea behind these ‘compilations of imaginary artists was creating a sense that a healthy acid house scene existed in the uk. virginia was the studio project of dave “mista luv” ball and then-wife virginia “gini” ball, a classical violinist who toured and recorded with siouxsie and the banshees and marc almond.

silent is the new single by miruna boruzescu aka borusiade from bucharest. silent is a suffocated cry. silent as in silence that is hard to take. sitting and waiting in silence, while exploding on the inside. silent as in silence before the storm. an intense track that recalls industrial spaces, hedonism, sweat, sex and disconnection from the outside world. the rattling sound of ghost train passing by, or big reverberated factory machines unleashed. body music 2017. the b side features a remix by the project khidja , also hailing from bucharest, and is driven by the tracks bass synth, a neurotic now school electro rapture take on the original. silent will be part of borusiades debut album that will be unleashed next year via comeme.

p-balans is activating again all its current accomplices in order to reinforce the heretic electronic scene of bucharest. a first collaboration of khidja, masters of psychedelic depths, and delusion men (comprised of holy fix and utopus), the reliable founding persons of future nuggets. all together delivering a smash techno-punk ep uplifted by an enchanting slowburner remix signed by borusiade.

khidja are back on malka tuti and this combo cannot and will not dissappoint. after their successful debut on john talabot s hiverndiscs, khidja continue their current direction of leftfield-club music exploration, this time in the form of microb, a track that is a wolrd of its own, fusioning heavy industrial vibes with their own take of -worldly music- to create this peak time dancefloor bonanza. on the flip side salon des amateurs tolouse low trax delievers two takes on the original track, stripped down and turned upside down, adding those massive vocals. these takes are hypnotic as they are groovey and they complete a unique package for the modern dance floor explorers.

flore and rusu met in high school. growing together through various musical phases, they ended up channeling their love for outlandish dance music into one of the most exciting projects to emerge from the bubbling eastern europe underground scene. in their hivern debut, they keep pushing the boundaries of their sound to forge some of their boldest productions to date. in all four tracks of impossible holiday, we find distinctive elements of the khidja palette recomposed under a new (and darker) light. the 12 inch comes wrapped in a sleeve featuring an oil painting by the romanian artist serban savu and design by arnau pi.

having come to light on optimo music, the junto club now kick off the snap crackle & pop label with a new single that builds on their promising reputation. shiviana is a perfect encapsulation of what the band are about, channelling all kinds of wave styles into their instruments but still coming off sounding contemporary and seductive at once. khidja comes on board to remix the track, turning it into an acidic burner with a heavy dose of bombast thrown in. ikiryo presents a more post punk side to the junto club sound, which smagghe & cross then buff up into a crafty electro number for the dancers.

p-balans is a new imprint in the future nuggets emerging constellation. a tehnodelia ramification within the bucharest electronic scene that will host rising names like khidja and borusiade while introducing new characters like the holy fix (camil dumitrescu, co-member of delusion men) and utopus (ion d, producer of steaua de mare, raze de soare, anahore?ii among others) already featured on -sounds on the unheard from romania vol. 2-. keeping the same strategies of fusion and diffusion as future nuggets, p-balans will explore the space traversal to techno, entering and exiting the dark halls of the club through multiple doors

bucharests own khidja have been an active part in the local nightclub scene over the past years. after first appearing as co-compilers of the romanian jazz lp for sonar kollektiv, it was finally a remix for baris k on emotional especial in late 2013 which put the duo on the want list of many tasteful djs around the world. the time was just perfect to appear with oriental soundscapes having been the most sought-after spice in dance music during that summer period

to accompany the release of especial s compilation mix cd, -eleccio- - offering of a snapshot of the first 9 eps on the label - a limited edition sampler ep is being released featuring 4 unreleased remixes from the label s roster to date. ever since the first white labels appeared at the end of summer 2013, emotional especial has had a busy release schedule, putting out music that are a slightly warped take on club music. mixing the influences of dub, electro, disco, proto-house, house and techno, a feeling, a sound, a vibe has appeared without any preordained plan. with the release of ees10cd - a dj meets studio compilation mix created by label mainstay and handyman, jamie paton - to mark the end of first series of the label, it was decided to included a couple of specal unreleased remixes to add a bit of new with the old in the mix. to that end this limited edition vinyl sampler was created to include the two remixes, plus the inclusion of another two gems that simply needed to see the light of day. first is the alternative -member- remix of inhalt by black merlin - a strings meets leather bar club-dub-out that takes things deeper and darker than before. this is followed by jamie delivering his own take of khidja s massive mustafa, with a warped, swamped out dub. next is another mix from cage & aviary of their pals, blancemange. brooding low-slung rerub dub anyone? finally there is a very special remix by khidja of the ganges orchestra. reissued on emotional rescue in 2013, this special remix takes the vocal mantra of the original and creates a balearic-raga tale that perfectly rounds off especial to date.

forgotten corner, khidja & cassini division first met on the desert planet of tatooine whilst attending a cosmic music festival at the galaxy renowned mos eisley cantina!…in a hash laden corner they bonded like wookies, jammed with the max rebo band & then roamed the desert plains of tatooine with the nomadic tusken raiders! no one knows exactly what happened but music ideas were exchanged & tracks were made ... here are two of them - rescued from tape, covered in cosmic cous cous purposely gathered by cassini from the rings of jupiter & smeared in hummus from the swamps of dagobah!

especial is delighted to welcome baris to the roster. known for his edit series of obscure turkish psychedelic, rock and disco, here he takes the producers chair to present *200*. working with musicians and singers to create a completely original production. the songs message for equality (of the sexes) highlights the bigotry and backward political and religious boundaries his country faces and acts as a siren to the current troubles.
