friedrich goldmann would have turned 75. macro is celebrating the composers anniversary with a luxury box set cd edition of the complete trios of 1986 - 2004 and his singular oboe quartet (2000). two of the recordings were produced by goldmann himself, and all feature musicians with a long-term working relationship related to and deep expertise of the composers oeuvre such as ingo goritzki, bjšrn lehmann, members of ensemble mosaik and knm ensemble. the cd is accompanied by a 48 page booklet, featuring extensive essays by bjšrn gottstein (artistic director of donaueschingen music days) and musicologist bruno santos, exploring goldmannÕs groundbreaking aesthetics.

kurz bevor sein drittes album comic erscheint, gibt uns moritz friedrich aka siriusmo einen kleinen vorgeschmack auf die quietschbunten welten, die er in den letzten jahren ausgecheckt hat. der single-edit von comic ist eine dieser völlig entspannten dancefloor-nummern, von denen das album einige im gepäck hat. in always du verzahnt sich ein schräger synthie-groove mit klaviereinlagen, und mit where was i legt moritz dann noch eine extra schippe surrealismus oben drauf, auf diesen riesigen haufen spaß.

ursprünglich als theater-musik für das anton podbevšek theatre in novo mesto in slovenien konzipiert, basiert -also sprach zarathustra- auf szenen aus friedrich nietzsches gleichnamigen philosophischen roman. für das album wurden passagen mit dem rtv slovenia symphonic orchestra aufgenommen. laibach haben in ihrer 35-jährigen kariere schon mehrfach musik für theater-produktionen eingespielt. so ist beispielsweise auf mute bereits das album -macbeth- erschienen, welches der überarbeitete score für die peter zadek inszenierung am hamburger schauspielhaus darstellt. neben instrumental-stücken sind hier auch titel enthalten, die von rezitation des sängers milan fras und dem gesang von mina Špiler getragen werden. im besten sinne: klassisch laibach!
