first ever reissue of the sixth album by michi sarmiento y sus bravos, originally released by discos fuentes in 1973.the lp includes several brilliant original songs plus a number of excellent cover tunes, and a dizzyingly diverse mix of genres: guanguanco, cumbele, calypso, cumbión, rumba, paseo, gaita, merengue. a tropical latin dance party!

formed of laura lee on bass, mark speer on guitar, and donald “dj” johnson on drums, khruangbin’s sounds are rooted in the deepest waters of world music infused with classic soul, dub and psychedelia. their 2015 debut album ‘the universe smiles upon you’ was heavily influenced by 60’s and 70’s thai cassettes the band listened to on their long car journeys to rehearsal in the texan countryside. ‘con todo el mundo’ takes inspiration not just from south east asia but similarly underdiscovered funk and soul of the mediterranean and the middle east, particularly iran.

we are very excited to welcome rocco & esquivel to cosmica s roster this year. the duo formed by rodrigo desentis (méxico) and eduardo esquivel (uruguay) provide an uptempo gem strictly designed for the dance floor. esquivel is a well know name in the latin american electronic music scene, since he started his residency at the mythical club extasis in montevideo. after 25 years of career and extensively touring through uruguay, brasil and argentina, eduardo has settled in méxico city with residencies in the acclaimed blanco colima and casa disco.

they say all good things comes in threes, and with the marking of nachtbrakers 3rd release for heist, we can confirm this universal truth once again. maurits verwoerd comes back to heist with more dancefloor muscle than ever before, and shows us great development of his sound: while keeping his unconventional drum patterns and love for the deeper side of house, he adds some filtered funk flavor along the way.

the first track is reminiscent of a military drum ritual dating back to the middle ages in which drums were used to create a melody that would call the soldiers on their feet at dawn. the second original track is a destroyer with intermittent drum patters and analogue bass lines that will leave nothing unaltered. conrad van ortons takes us deep into the eery world that lies beneath us. patrick kriegers interpretation is a magical dance floor track with eminent eloquence.
