this is the second release from athens isigude records and features 2 fresh, respectful mixes of the track “bar reckless”. the lyrics recall a dialogue between her and a monk whom she met at the bar and asked “what are you doing here old man? this is no place for a saint to be”. on remixing duties we have rising greek producer zaq who takes the greek folk epirotic rhythm deep into a truly aegean balearic beat on the a-side while on the flip side he brings some dubby acidic beats.

ship to shore is a new record label from record collector and gentleman of the night craig richards. the first release is by pbr streetgang made specifically with craig in mind, the release also includes a remix by craig himself. pbr streetgang delivery a great ep of wayward hedonistic-house. ‘in the turret’ has been causing somewhat of a commotion, of late, on discerning dance-floors. on the flip craig offers up a drawn out electro break-beat take on ‘in the turret’, which is equally as beguiling. the ep also features the deep disco leanings of ‘affordable excellence’ and the psychedelic ‘apocalypse tool’.

with the release of their last album “smoke” (2013) dapayk & padberg moved to a listening oriented direction, that also works perfectly off the dance floor. the new single “sink this ship” underlines their decision to follow this path in the future … maybe even with their upcoming album “harbour” later this year. on “sink this ship” eva padberg unfolds her matured voice, which shows more confidence than on previous records. dapayk skillfully puts her voice in a common scenery, where the straight beats are long over and where is space for extravagances and inventiveness. however, this is not a radical change turning away from the club sound. two of the most sought-after remixer artists at the moment, robot koch and bebetta, ensure the suitability for the dance floor. robot koch skillfully disassembles (for which he is known) the original. primarily he builds his version on the emotional base of eva’s vocal part and dapayk’s warm bass line. however, on the flip side, there is almost a contrasting change. the slight melancholy of the original track gives way for a typical bebetta techhouse beat, that flows through the club in a dreamy, yet simply irresistible manner.

killer deep spaced out electro tracks!!! over 20 years ago shad t. scott and his pal seven set up isophlux records, miamis infamous first electronic imprint releasing, as they put techno, electro, funk, experimental, and anything good. now in year 2016, shad under his gosub alias releases this sunday at battle ship key titled ep for barba records, staying true to that initial principle. its far away from just being good though, its beautiful and warm electronic music at its best, oozing chill and feel good moods. original two tracks are accompanied with a remix by second time appearing on barba - jtc aka tadd mullinix who this time nicely surprised us with his ol school ny style house beauty. overall one fine classic record this, period.
