Moonboots, Aficionado, Manchester - Lovely stuff again. The original of Stars Festoon is perfect laid back tackle, but I think I love 'If Only Sometimes', even more. The piano is just lovely and when the strings kick in… oh yes. AMCA mix is quality too. Really strong three tracker. Look forward to picking it up on 'the vinyls'

Richard Dorfmeister, Germany - Lovely release.

Coyote, UK - Lovely release, full support from Coyote

Mark Broadbent, Pikes on Sunday, Ibiza - Another incredible release from Smith and it's his own versions that really light my fire once again. Having said that however all four tracks will work an absolute treat around the pool at Pikes On Sunday's. Full support once again.
Really looking forward to getting my hands on the actual record package, NuNorthern Soul always deliver a beautiful product worthy of space on the shelf.

Dom Servini, WahWah45 / Absolute Radio, UK - Played AMCA remix on the radio 6th Sept.

Chris Coco, Melodica, UK - More gorgeous stuff, perfect for Melodica radio show, can't wait to get my hands on these beauties. Featured on Melodica podcast 7th Sept.

Danielle Moore, Crazy P, UK - Its stunning. The first track has actually left me on the floor in folds of emotion. Beautiful chord structure and delicate lyrics that kiss your soul…I'm not trying to be clever either its just is so beautiful.

Bill Brewster, UK - Love both the originals will definitely play at least one on my podcast and really like what Sally & Steve have done to Stars Festoon too.

Pete Gooding, Mambo, Ibiza / www.secretlifemusic,com - Yeah very nice, will play at Mambo.

Andy Wilson, Balearica, Sonica Radio, Ibiza - Lovely songs. Like the folkie vibes on the originals but particularly like the AMCA mixes.

Mike Battaglia, Vinyl Dreams, San Fran, USA - Wonderful stuff as usual. BJ is swiftly becoming one of my favourite artists and I love the AMCA remix. I'm playing a chillout festival in Northern California in a few weeks at sunset and will be playing the remix for sure! Thanks for keeping me in the loop, keep it up.

Adam Walton, BBC Radio Wales, UK - Played Stars Festoon on his show 12th Sept 2015.

Daz-I-Kue, Bugz In The Attic - Another great release!

Quincy Jointz, Germany - I dig the A man called Adam remix.
Renown as a multi instrumentalist B.J. Smith is perhaps best known for his wonderful 'Dedications to the Greats' release which have seen him cover Mos Def, The Pharcyde and OutKast in his own unique style, Ben is also half of Balearic super duo, Smith & Mudd and one third of White Elephant with Jim and Chris from Crazy P.

Between Ship and Shore is a selection of songs that Ben has been crafting between his London home and summers spent in Cornwall and the results speak for themselves. One man and his guitar and his tales of time spent by the wonderful coastline of the South West of the UK and a hint of the Scottish Highlands.

JJ Cale, Terry Callier and John Martyn all influence and inspire Ben, and this is apparent in his subtle yet powerful tales.

“Stars Festoon" see's Ben take the listener to a bygone era with a meandering, jolly jaunt day trip to the beach, gently bobbing about in small wooden boats, beach camp fires and the smell of fish and chips with salt and vinegar wafting through the air...

Balearic pioneers and longstanding laid back music evangelists, A Man Called Adam add their deft touch to "Stars Festoon" and take it down a slightly off beat track between the sand dunes with electronic glitches, pops and bass sounds, stripping it back to bare bones, giving it some extra space and isolating vocal parts to give it a slightly haunted feel, perfect for a late night / early morning beach walk soundtrack...

“If Only Sometimes" once again delivers with its wonderful piano led opening and gentle guitar pickings enticing Ben to sooth and gently ease the listener in before enveloping them with warm harmonies and uplifting vocals, enhanced by the euphoric string section that then gives way to wonderful brass stabs and the crescendo beautifully arranged by Jim Baron (Crazy P / White Elephant / Ron Basejam).
