lange hat uns der wiener elektronikmusiker klaus waldeck – zuletzt bekannt durch sein legendäres album »ballroom stories« (2007) – warten lassen. die vorfreude ist groß und waldeck hat auch gleich eine Überraschung für uns parat: sämtliche titel wurden auf italienisch eingesungen - und zwar von der fantastischen neuentdeckung, der wiener sängerin heidi moussa-benammar (»la heidi«).
waldeck selbst möchte gran paradiso als eine »spaghetti & western« produktion bezeichnet wissen: »gran paradiso, das ist einerseits hommage an den legendären sound des italo-westerns – andererseits spürt es auch den sentimentalen klängen des italienischen canzone nach - jedoch stets mit der nötigen ironischen distanz.« »italienisch... schon die sprache klingt nach musik«
der sound des albums trägt waldecks unverkennbare handschrift. gelegentliche einsprengsel von tango, dub und reggae runden dieses abwechslungsreiche sommeralbum ab.

over the clouds, over the palm trees, there’s club paradiso. club paradiso is a mission. this italo-duo comes from rimini, adriatic coast, and brings forth the golden age of the spanking riviera club culture. travelling through time and space with synths and drum machines, they mix the past(a) and the future. it’s not all about nostalgia, it’s the future they like. the new ep titled “panoramica” sexily rides the summer vibe with infectious body-moving rhythms. the ep is an hypnotic and groovy journey that starts off with “batongo”, a tribal and exotic dancefloor banger that will let the sweat out of the listener in zero time. “espresso notte” is filled with organic house grooves, dreamy pads and a synth that tells you a story that could go on and on and on. “gulliver” and “litoraneo” pick up from there and bring the sound scenario down heavy with 70s-80s disco sounds and boogie, transporting mind and body to a warm and mellow planet. “panoramica” reflects perfectly club pradiso’s goal of mixing past and future, an über-cool ep that is both club and disco friendly.

geneve based pascal viscardi bring his rich and sweltering textures to saft with his first ep for the spanish label. the swiss producers paradiso ep is already the 9th installment and by no means an odd addition to the family. strongly rooted in soulful sounds with firm aesthetics and blissful melodies, this release is exactly what saft is all about. from the moment the pad in the title track starts riding, paradiso immediately hints to a deserted paradise.
tales from the emax (a2) is a groove laden anthem that will soothe those that are into soulful but firm sounds. on the b side, we find remix work of both originals. swiss house stalwart agnes stirs things up with his thriving rework of paradiso called la charme chambertin mixx. on the b2 cut we find saft familiar jefferson belmondo with a cracking rework of the title track *paradiso* called beach mix. 4 strong, groove-laden cuts that celebrate the saft sound like never before.
