possession records proudly present the new album by soft riot, entitled -the outsider in the mirrors-. soft riot is the stylised musical alter-ego of jjd, canadian by birth and an ex-resident of london and sheffield, now based in glasgow (so not unfamiliar with sites of post-industrial decay!). with over twenty years of playing in various post-punk and synth-punk bands, he has been crafting the sound of soft riot since the early turn of the decade, releasing a slew of albums across a multitude of labels and touring obsessively around europe and beyond. with -the outsider in the mirrors-, his sixth full-length, he has found a new home for his sound on possession records, a fledgling glasgow imprint founded by jjd, claudia nova (aka hausfrau) and andy brown (ubre blanca). their aim is to bring together their pool of musical talents and provide a more permanent home for their future creative endeavours, whether it be music, video or otherwise and to experiment with what it is to be a -label- in the ever evolving 21st century. future projects and releases will see them getting a select group of their peers and friends involved in possession s focused vision, locally or from further afield.

l_ is the moniker of the brazilian producer and sound artist luis fernando. having released his debut album love is hell in 2014 through the berlin-based antime imprint, he also received attention with a slew of remixes and contributed to several compilations, most notably »hy brazil vol. 7« which was hand-selected by chico dub, one of the most important figures in the brazilian electronic music scene.

wax pistols - a young, hanover based diy label which stands for simple, authentic house influenced music. aim is the principle of simplicity, to create handmade music released on a catchable medium. the label combines classic ascendancies and passion for analogue music apart from any kind of digital as well as technical capabilities. basis is to keep simple things as an aesthetically feature in its purest way and lastly: crude, honest and danceable. the debute 4-tracker by wax pistols owners dub jamz , is introducing first impressions of what you can expect from this imprint in the near future.

nofitstate return with four tracks from hot talent a1 bassline whose reputation has been building of late from a succession of releases for the likes of dirtybird, get physical and gruuv amongst others. here hidden agenda finds the young producer in true devastating form. skippy percussion, a nod to the uks garage scene, vibes the track along nicely whilst the bass does the damage. burnt out piano island delves deeper, acting as a neat counterpoint to the more main room agenda. here the style is much more nuanced with a more hypnotic leaning. outsider picks up the pace against, albeit in a subtle, uplifting vibe with warped pianos and razor sharp percussion. t moe p rounds things off nicely with a moody bassline driven groove.

the great long lost album from this 60s us band, re-issued on 180 gram vinyl. musically in the style of iron butterfly or banchee, with great fuzzed-out guitars, booming bass and screaming vocals, including the 14 minutes long spaced-out track *my main woman*.
