good things come to those who wait. the long-anticipated land of light debut, a masterpiece of an album and pillar of the esp institute, was unveiled in late 2012, slowly followed by the gorgeous remixed ii. since then, many have longed for the missing first half of this two-part package, the universe is kind and has finally delivered remixed i. on side a, kuniyuki takahashi (mastering engineer behind seminal esp releases, and legend in his own right) took the bull by the horns remixing flaresa piece of music so entrenched in melancholy, with such fluid performance and production, its hard to imagine anyone taking it deeperhe has unarguably triumphed. on side b, esp institute veterans tambien rose to the same challenge with flares, the bavarians taking a refreshing uptempo approach, a contrast to the swells of guitar and synth. closing the release is the seahawks blissful re-imagination of bell rock outpost, slowly and steadily setting sail into a dusky vision of the scottish lighthouse after which the song was named.
kuni & henriks collaborate again since dancefloor hit track once again. original version on a side, henriks trippy melody and kunis musical flute sound fits amazing. its a new style of jazzy deep house. on b side, our favotire kraut rock oriented band who base in cologne, von spar, delivered excellent remix. if you are following pampas die vogel, you will love their remix. remix package of session 2 with lord of the isle & henriks children johannes brecht remix are coming in the summer.

opilec music s eclectic remix series rolls on with another essential package, this time tackling a single from label boss i-robots s law of robotics album back in 2008. adding their own spin to things are red axes and hiroshi watanabe aka kaito after likes of kuniyuki takahashi, djembe monks, danny ocean, los hermanos, gary martin, alexander robotnick, daniele baldelli & marco dionigi have all stepped up previously. isreali duo red axes go first, a pair known for mixing up synths and guitars in exciting new ways on labels like hivern discs, i m a cliche and esp institute amongst others. their excellent version of the track re-works it as a deep and spine tingling house cut. moody chords lull you into a hypnotic and zoned out groove that is finished with some intoxicating spoken words. hiroshi watanabe aka kaito is next, an acclaimed kompakt and transmat artist who makes succulent techno with ambient atmospheres. his brilliant version here is just that, with cosmic chords and slippery rubber beats carrying you away into the night. warm and inviting, it elevates you to the next level over its long length, it is a classy bit of techno that also comes as a stripped back instrumental version.
the first collaboration of kuniyuki and japanese legendary jazz pianist fumio itabashi, its originally released in 2009,recorded for kuniyukis third album walking in the naked city. kuniyuki and itabashi invited henrik schwarz as vocalist, maybe you remember henrik&kuniyukis house version. itabashi said river is one of the best song which i have produced.

japanese guitarist kazumi watanabe has been a treasure of leftfield music in the far east since the 70s, and jazzy conscious are doing a great service in highlighting the delicate talents of this gifted artist for a new generation. there s a new age lilt to the looped up melodic chime patterns that course through -garuda- as they flirt with watanabe s effervescent playing. kuniyuki then hops on the b side to deliver a contemporary remix of the track that shapes out a brooding, immersive atmosphere populated by earthly drums and looming reverb.
the first release of our new project studio mule is a cover of japanese 80s dance classic carnaval by taeko ohnuki. is studio mule a band? unit? we never have fixed member except kuniyuki takahashi as a track maker. we invite who we love. the first gest is our beloved miyako koda aka dip in the pool. you remember the reissue of on retinae on music from memory. miyako koda is one of the most carisma model in japan in 80s and the vocalist of experimental pop band dip in the pool. dance edit on a side is true to the original. off course more playful than original. extended edit on b side is more club friendly house version.
it was in february 2015 when japanese producer and sound designer kuniyuki takahashi, sometimes known as koss, releases with the ep ônewwave project æ2ö a record, that tapped some roots of his mu-sical education: new wave, german electro punk from bands like a daf, ebm from acts like front 242 as well as industrial music.
originally released in japan in 2015 on dj emmas nitelist music as part of its acid ep series, only a small handful of copies of this 12inch made it to europe. jd twitch was lucky to score a copy and both tracks became firm favourites in his sets and much asked about. twitch felt this music deserved a wider audience so was kindly granted permission to reissue it on optimo trax. yes another double a side release, a1, hiroshi watanabes - infinity sign is a hypno ecstatic acid piano-tingling monolith. a2, kuniyukis acid air is a slow building organic percussive acid freak out that will cause a freak out on the floor. it is hard to do anything with a 303 that is interesting these days but both the tracks on this 12inch are 100% club classic.
