der titel deutet es schon an - es ist das neunte solo-album von martin rev. martin reverby ist neben dem im letzten jahr verstorbenen alan vega ein gründungsmitglied der new yorker band suicide. deren bahnbrechenden musikalischen verdienste aufzuzählen, würde seiten füllen. daher sagen wir einfach: die klangwelten von new wave bis techno wären ohne sie eine andere. -demolition 9- stellt das erste neue material seit 2009 dar, und auf altersmilde von martin rev sollte der hörer nicht hoffen. mit über 30 soundskizzen (die längste währt gerade 3 minuten), bietet martin rev eine Überfülle an ideen und stimmungen an. percussion-experimente, ambient-sounds, synthie-lärm und noir-soundscapes im ständigen wechsel, fordern den hörer. das album erscheint auf atlas realisations, dem neuen label von craig leon, seines zeichens produzent von den ramones, blondie und den bangles.
