ausgehend von einer großen liebe zu drone, shoegaze, post rock, frühen synthie-klängen und der ausufernden musik der 70er, wächst die klangwelt von conduits zu etwas größerem als der summe ihrer einzelteile: glockenartige gitarren, fließende drums, analoge synthesizer, progige basslinien und eine wunderschöne weibliche stimme, die stark genug ist, um in den wirbelnden soundlandschaften nicht verloren zu gehen. conduits aus omaha, nebraska, gründeten sich 2009 und bestehen aus mitgliedern von the good life, eagle seagull, son ambulance, neva dinova, cursive und the golden age.

on the a-side, the loco dice dub is a perfect set-builder, one of his best remixes to date. purist loco fans might also be happy to hear that tigas vocal has been 99% extracted from this version, leaving behind only the echo of disco-pop in a solid, dj-friendly groove.
kaines mix keeps things closer to the original, emphasizing the pop punch-lines with staccato beeps and a chunky beat. positive vibes here from a bright young uk producer.
finally, space-disco maestros emperor machine turn in another epic roller complete with a brilliant analog synth jam finale.

so the story goes: a few years ago i played a cool underground party in stockholm with my good friend and crazy record collector mark seven. early on that night mark played me this beautiful and melancholic piece of music. mark happily handed me his spare copy and my record collection for a second felt a little more complete… originally released as a b-side track to als slipshod ep on out of the loop the track continued to mesmerize whenever i played it and the fact that so many people loved it and equally as many didn’t know the record i though a re-release could be a great idea. it’s inclusion on gerd janson’s recent sonar kollektiv compilation and the fact that it’s been played by legendary dj harvey ( o bearded one as he’s known to by the initiated)has obviously helped to spread it’s fame to. now hopefully showing it’s full potential we bring you the remastered “lullaby for robert” with a whole bunch of remixes made with love by remixers spellbounded by it’s magic. on part 1 we bring you : the original + bogdan irkük remix part 2 will include reworks by mark seven, gatto fritto and yours truly toot toot beep beep,
