after the huge success of their first collaboration, doorly and el prevost are back for part two: this time the world touring doorly serves up a hot original that gets remixed by red rack�em and el prevost, while el prevost also serves up an original of his own, all on his own no speakers label. the first ep, featuring a lee foss remix, got support form the likes of paco osuna, solomun and groove armada and this second instalment is set to be just as big this summer. doorly is a dance heavyweight who headlines clubs like space ibiza on his global travels, releases on cajual, hot creations and dirtybird and is no stranger to hitting high places in the charts with his big and infectious sounds. as a dj he is energetic and can make a mark on any dance floor, and so will this new tune, �sonder.� it is six superbly deep and atmospheric minutes of warm, rolling drums and searching synths that bring an intergalactic feel next to twinkling keys. jostling percussion brings a little loose funk and the whole thing is sure to lock in dance floors. el prevost then steps up to remix after 15 years of putting out killer cuts on labels like third ear. his music has made its way into the record bags of tastemakers like steve bug, dj hell and steffi and this excellent remix shows off his singular style again. it is a little tougher and more energetic than the original, with sprinkled hits, rumbling bass and pixelated synth lines dancing about up top. then comes red rack�em, the bergerac boss who had a huge hit with �wonky disco bassline banger� last year. it was one of the tracks of the year and has been followed by an equally brilliant album by this esteemed house veteran. his remix here is big, bouncy and off kilter thanks to its coarse hi hats and punchy rubber drums. great vocal treatment adds more wonkiness and broad synth strokes flesh things out into another sure-fire party starter that sounds like little else. last but not least, el prevost offers up a solitary state mix of his own �temper mental�. it�s a hugely inventive track with great synth modulations burrowing deep into your brain as dancing hi hats and whirring bass encourage you to cut loose and shift freaky shapes. this is a strong ep that really packs a punch across four standout tracks.

this is the vinyl format of tom brosseaus third full length for fatcat, after 2006s compilation of early material empty houses are lonely and 2007s critically acclaimed cavalier, which was produced by pj harvey collaborator john parish in one week. mice parades adam pierce and small sails ethan rose co produced and guest performed on posthumous success. ethan roses tracks were produced in portland, oregon, adam pierces in upstate ny. this album marks a noticeable sabbatical from the predominantly vocal and guitar / all acoustic recordings of previous records.

the artists featured on this release were carefully chosen in order to create an eclectic sonic journey.
on the a side, two tracks from playful death, a producer whose sounds are influenced by comics such as biomega and the invisibles.
the first track on the b side is from yxan, which is micheal idehall�s techno alias. michael is a multi-talented artist who leads a publishing house called belzebez that also features many of his own artworks and has had releases on prominent labels such as ant-zen.
next up is necropants a producer who enjoys roaming around graveyards and and seeking out ancient burial mounds. the last track on the b side was created by bellatrix?, an up and coming producer from verona, italy who has recently released an excellent ep on the veleno viola imprint. bellatrix? also heads a tape label called culto verona.

brothers black kick off their self-titled label with brbl001, a four-track original techno ep. following prior releases on their own joint imprint, bade records, and family labels safer at night and voxnox records, brbl is a new home where the pair will curate their own sound and productions. the pair kick off the a-side with creep oder was? , a stripped down vocal banger that teams hard-edged percussion with an acidic lead. the a2, axe to grind , combines dub chords with raw rolling percussion to create a deep hypnotic atmosphere. on the flip side, the b1 only human is a tense, driving tool with industrial tones that s perfect for the peak time hours. the b2, imagination barrier , is a frantic 140bpm techno exploration that combines the duo s signature vocals with heavily 90s influenced percussion.

after the creation of computer disco lp (1982), marcello giombini produces the year after i adore commodore - computer music flash, which was mainly made with a commodore 64. giombini was a veteran of music applications with personal computer, started with an apple ii europlus and then converted to the commodore 64 thanks to the presence of 3 independent music generators that allowed him to make more elaborate music easier. the record was inspired by the videogames of the time, so that the titles of the 10 tracks are inspired by the names of famous games. the music was created using four to eleven commodore 64 programmed and synchronized with an external audio interface. at the time, giombini, in his studio in a basement just a few steps from nomentana, rome, had organized a small school with courses of basic and computer music. the graphic is the same of original lp with inner-sleeve dedicated to commodore 64.

we are officially under exclusive rights reissuing a very special privetly pressed 45, -silver satin- by axis. originally released back in 1984, axis was a short-lived band formed in california by guitar player/vocalist byron bordeaux. back in 80s, record was never officially distributed, with only a couple of hundred 45s made, and sold exclusively at their shows. byron recorded a good deal of demo tracks, which for the next 30 years would go unreleased, all stuck on a pile of 8-track and cassette tapes. you can find one of these tracks on the flipside of this 7- - -runaway love- was completely recorded and performed by byron circa 1986. following the band s dissolution, byron continued performing, eventually ending up playing alongside the likes of bobby womack, buddy miles and the gap band. fast forward three decades later, -silver satin- is a sought after record on the collectors market that when found, goes for triple figures on ebay, discogs and the like. heavy support from jeremy underground as played live at dimensions 2016.

tutti hill�s �when the going gets rough� was listed on the label of her arock single in 1964 but the record actually played �whoa whoa, baby take it slow�. at last this gorgeous mid-tempo dancer from ron miller and lee porter makes it to 45. the flip is a piano and voice demo from the same stable but garrett saunders� magnificent baritone makes the song a must-have. what a pity he did not record more.

we have already released the longer version of the northern classic �gone with the wind is my love�, but this kent 45 of rita & the tiaras� masterpiece is the first time we have issued the doré single as it was originally put out. on the flip is the glorious instrumental version for lovers of that la orchestral soul sound.

�this is my chance� lay dormant until the 90s, when it was included on the ace cd �the heart of southern soul vol 3�. that series was aimed at ballad fans but art gentry�s mid-tempo gem proved ideal for the modern soul dance scene. a 12-inch promo issued at the time is now an in-demand piece of vinyl. mystery surrounds who wrote shirley brown�s �even if the signs are wrong� but this splendid, lilting soul song deserves a vinyl release.

back in 1955 an unidentified flying object was spotted by a couple of farm workers nearby llangollen s castel dinas bran (crow castle). a young man named dewi llandlenip had taken some astonishing photographs of what appears to be a ufo hovering above the ancient medieval site. he was sure, this was the presence of the time travellers. crow castle has always had a mysterious presence, but this took them by surprise, a kind of close encouter type iii. shortly after this bizarre moment they were all left stunned and knocked to the ground, the object had gone without trace and their memory obscured into a so called abduction reset.

black truffle is honored to present a new issue of annea lockwoodÆs classic 1970 tape piece tiger balm, unavailable on vinyl for over thirty years, accompanied by two exquisite unreleased works for percussion and voice. created while lockwood was living in the uk, the side-long tiger balm is a singular work within the cannon of tape music. inspired by research into the ritual function of music, the piece explores the possibility of evoking ancient communal memories through sound. breaking entirely with the dynamic language of the musique concrÞte tradition, lockwood uses a select palette of mainly unprocessed sonic elements chosen for their mysterious and erotic characteristics (a purring cat, a heartbeat, gongs, slowed down jaw harp, a tiger, a womanÆs breath, a plane passing overhead), presenting at most two sounds at once. as one sound flows organically into the next, their shared characteristics are highlighted, opening a space of dream logic and mysterious associations between nature and culture, the ancient and the modern. the b-side presents two pieces for percussion recorded here for the first time. amazonia dreaming (1987), performed by dominic donato, uses unaccompanied snare drum and voice to evoke the nocturnal soundscape of the amazon rainforest. unorthodox techniques and materials (marbles, chopsticks, a plastic jar lid) transform the snare into a resonant field of sensual textures.

since his untimely death at the all too young age of 32 the world has grown to appreciate the work of j dilla even more than when he was alive. there�s an ethereal quality to jay dee�s works, part boom bap but more mellow. mellow, but never soft. and dilla never stopped making beats, his mpc was by his side until the very end. it now resides in the smithsonian. due the prolific nature of his beat making, the world is blessed to have stacks of dilla material � some coming to light even this many years after his passing. in the world of hip hop, no one�s mother is more famous that ma dukes. go ahead, name check chuck d�s mom or chance the rapper�s mom or ti�s mother � without hitting google. and one of the reasons we all know ma dukes is her tireless effort to maintain dilla�s legacy. this release is yet another step in that direction. presented here, from the official ma dukes collection, are 15 works by jay dee from deep in the vaults, being released on vinyl for the first time.

500 copies limited edition! flash forward is happy to repress one of kerri chandler s most beautiful records.first come first served ! -black vinyl label boss alan russell first met kerri when alan was writing for echoes magazine and kerri was signed (by a&r man johnnie walker) to champion records in the uk. alan was interviewing dee dee brave at a hotel in west london as part of the promotion for her album on champion which was released in 1991. alan was already familiar with kerri s work such as superlover and set if off and with his productions on movin records, so asked about kerri and when told that he was also in london as part of the dee dee s tour, the two met and began talking. kerri was slightly surprised that alan knew all of his early releases and the two bonded. they met again in new york when alan was attending the nms (precursor to the wmc in miami) and stayed in touch. years later when alan had started black vinyl the two met again and alan asked if kerri would do something for his label. kerri soon delivered a dat containing these three tracks. the track my old friend was originally titled for my old friend alan , which alan shortened so it would look better on the label! the rest, as they say, is history.-

as noted on another release (see ropin), cornell campbell has enjoyed one of the longest-running careers of any jamaican singer, and he is blessed with a readily identifiable style too. he began his career for clement �sir coxsone� dodd in 1956, when rhythm and blues held sway in jamaica, and later cut some ska songs for king edwards. he then passed through the sensations in the rock steady phase and worked as a solo singer at treasure isle, before returning to studio one with the eternals, scoring huge hits such as �stars� and �queen of the minstrel� as the 60s gave way to the 70s. his greatest phase of popularity was them brokered by hit-making producer bunny lee, who kept him on top right through the 1970s and into the 80s. the 1975 album dance in a greenwich farm was first issued on the grounation label in the uk. along with a re-working of �stars� re-titled �the sun,� a re-working of �queen of the minstrel� as �girl of my dreams� and the sound system opus that is the title track, the album has the boastful �conquering gorgon� and a number of keenly-observed cover tunes, including a cut of the gaylads� �no good girl,� a version of the heptones� �why did you leave me� and a killer cut of the uniques� �watch this sound� (based on �for what it�s worth� by buffalo springfield).

the aristocrats were originally from bridgeport, connecticut, but came to philadelphia in 1973 where they recorded five tracks with bobbi eli at sigma sound studios. only one single was released, the philly classic �let�s get together now� on warner brothers records. original pressings can fetch up to £150. the expansion pressing here is extra special as the �b� side �loving you is mellow� has never previously been released on 7� or vinyl. it is in fact the original version of a song later made famous by major harris but in it�s own right an exceptional piece of philly magic.

sometimes you have to put out a recdord for yourself. i first heard the east of underground lp from malcom catto in the jazzman records office in around 2000, after a couple of years i managed to pick one up for $100 from a soundtrack dealer who did not know what he had. now there is a few bangers on the lp but i have always thought is was the ballads that deserve the shine, so after a chat with egon at now-again i managed to sort out putting my two favorites on 45 for that end of the night slowy. hopeflly a few of you will enjoy this one also.

restless mashaits hailing from geneva are based around the core of jil and stuf. they released a sizeable amount of new roots classics throughout the 90s and 00�s. recently becoming active again, they are best remembered for the sessions they recorded at kingston, jamaica in the mid/late 90s with legendary musicians such as vin gordon, deadly headly and dizzy moore. the original releases have been since long deleted, but some are now unearthed thanks to partial records. * lion� from 1996, features the legendary jamaican percussionist scully simms (who recently passed away) and was in every box of all serious roots selectors back then. now long deleted, this will fill in the gap for the many collectors who have this on their wants lists. dub lion� is a different dub version to the one previously released in 1996.

ivory puzzle � dj krust a straight up banger from dj krusts -cloaking- bass era. like many tracks from the time, it s working simplicity was it s defining factor. a very hooky arpeggiated intro and breakdown and an unrelenting drum and bass workout, the track steps up a gear getting more intense every sixteen bars taking the dance floor on the musical equivalent of a nitro fuelled sprint down a drag strip.
flip it � dj krust a futuristic roller with sampled funk breakbeats reminiscent of -true stories- and -soul in motion-. like many of the krust and full cycle releases this was a tune screaming to be mixed with others, it s unexpected drum edits and fx popping in and out making it impossible to tell when one tune ended and another began. the resonating b-line always sounded huge on a rig and paved the way for a myriad of future generations of bass ideas. quite a rare tune, only krust, die and bryan g had this on dubplate.

it is with great pleasure that we announce the first edition of the krill south series. the series will be making history, right from its inaugural release, by being the first ever techno release to be pressed and distributed from argentina. the release will coincide with a partnership with conekta records. the first release will be a reissue of a remastered version of two of krill�s hottest releases - jonas kopp�s �anklad� (which was featured on krill�s maiden voyage back in 2011) and raffael attanasio�s x501�s �x505.5� (which can be found on the a-side of the fourth krill release with bleak�s offerings on the flip). kopp and attanasio�s contributions to the techno scene have sky-rocketed since their last krill output and it�s an honour to be able to reissue something that has been marked as legendary on krill�s accolade. krill music

a strange confluence of sound that sounds part krautrock synth label brain records, part hyperdub. techno haze and synth wormholes with spectacular sound design that has banged at berghain and soundtracked winter night drives. greenspan is known mainly for his work with junior boys and jessy lanza and taraval is a longtime touring member of caribou, but both have released several 12� and eps of electronic exploration over the past few years. inspired by synthesizer minimalists like jd emmanuel, cluster and john carpenter, the two attempted to create a type of dance music with hardware that was indebted to their influences but did not feel intrinsically retrogressive. the idea was to make a type of raw synthesizer and drum machine music that could be listened to beside the hypermodern techno of pearson sound or actress. the cover art is a tribute to a mysterious mural that looms over the hamilton ontario area where the album was recorded. each of the five tracks on the ep were edited down from much longer recording jams which were done with hardware sequencers in real time. the recording was done completely off the floor with no overdubs or added material after the fact.

one half of the junior boys, jeremy greenspan makes his second appearance on jiaolong with the aid of none other than legendary, algorithmic composer, laurie spiegel. those not familiar with her work, spiegel is best known for her use of interactive and algorithmic logic as part of the compositional process, spiegel worked with buchla and electronic music laboratories synthesizers and subsequently many early, often experimental and prototype-level music and image generation systems. in the mid 80s, her most widely used software was the music mouse. here, greenspan works her piece >drums< into a confident dj tool, rolling steadily with angular electronic effects over a solid, weighty pulse. >sirius shake< employs a classic kompakt-style schaffle beat, mapping a curious robotic waltz.
