first time i heard this track out was d.jing with adrian gibson, booker/manager for the london jazz cafe in its hay day in the early 2000s, i thought it was some crazy obscusre early jacksons 45. i had no idea what it was but i liked it and it stuck with me. as my eyes were on 45 s at the time it passed me by until numero group reissued it on their fabulous soul messengers compilation (essential purchase if you don t own). after quite a bit of badgering rob sevier, co-owner of numero group, let this grace my format of choice, so here we are, both sides first outing as a single.

goldmin music label founder romain lanteaume alias einka meets detroit minimalism master terrence dixon aka population one for a truly conceptual techno 12-.. terrence dixon is one of our favorite artists and biggest inspiration.. detroitborn artist released his first 12- back in 1994 followed by several quintessential records and 2 epic albums -from the far future- on legendary berlin-based label tresor. terrence is not only a great techno producer who makes subwoofers roar in clubs, he is a man obsessed by a concept, an idea that he s following from the very beginning.. -minimalism- in the reaaaaal sense of the word.. for example, when thousands producers are wondering what s eventually missing in their new track, terrence is rather wondering what s useless, what could be removed and that s definitely what he gets to share on his own -reduction- imprint. after the release of terrence s track -steve austin s mile- on goldmin theme lp, romain got to meet him in detroit during summer 2014. the aim was to make an abstract record that could still be linked to a feeling or a situation.. a1 the edge track is probably a good example as it s designed and built to make you feel like you get closer and closer to the edge while the track is slowly growing until you fall.. can you feel it? :) as for the other tracks, there is also a special idea behind them but we better let you interpret it your way

an ep of golden bug on lddlm has been a long-time coming. paths crosses, encounters, similitudes. but it took all of us time to agree on how golden bug should fit into our mortal ethics of fragmentation: we don t want to sound like anybody else, each track on the ep should all sound different. the french but barcelona based producer played our game, anticipating his future and very diverse album with a spook yet catchy 12inch. wild boys was an instant ear-catcher, some proto funk with a very strong vocal by yan wagner that made it sound like duran duran on speedball. it was hard to take it to another level but lord tusk, one of our favourite producers of the emerging -no genre london scene beefs it up, kraftwerk way. its moody as we all are. ik voel je shows the more experimental spaced out side of golden bug, we d call it space rock if we had to. do not neglect l-horloge, it s slow, dark, menacing but it s a real time bomb if tuned correctly.

having recently played an eight hour set to a sold-out crowd at london�s oval space, the prolific dusky drop a trio of moody club tool tracks on 17 steps as they continue their european autumn/winter tour. a club tool in the most effective sense, lead track �lydia� is dark, nagging acid groover that builds and builds throughout its 6 hypnotic minutes. with all the melodic material based around the lydian scale, �lydia� was originally inspired by a bizarre, trippy dream alfie had in which everything was all based on the lydian scale. a homage to classic techno, �bitter lake� is a hard-hitting surge of looping, percussive energy and detroit-nodding rave stabs that build to a hoover-fuelled breakdown release. rounding off the trio, the brilliantly titled and uniquely composed �infinite libido� again explores dusky�s more percussive tendencies and has been a regular feature in their dj sets for the past year.

the * dance session band project* started for the session with the dance duo symbol-ism who represents yoyogi, tokyo known as the base of yygrec. the band is composed by three members. daisuke fujiwara (sax), well versed in detroit techno, got attention when he was playing in his original band �phat�, which sublimated the improvisation style of techno and jazz in 90�s. after that he has played with jeff mills and also with underground resistance. masatsugu hattori (drums) who has been playing across the genre, has appeared on the fighting-style music event boycott rhythm machine versus live. he has also played and gone on a duo tour with mc sibitt from a hiphop crew origami. keigo iwanami (bass) is playing in a club jazz band sleepwalker, a punk band midori, oncenth trio, zycos and more. he keeps playing in various fields of music like jazz, pop, punk, improvisation music etc. in this project, they creates �physical� dance session music inspired by symbol-ism, and reflects their each musical backgrounds of jazz, techno, house, hiphop, punk, improvisation and so on.

mannequin records is elated to present a selection of the killer �zombie holocaust� soundtrack by nico fidenco, remixed by mannequin records boss alessandro adriani on the b side. zombie holocaust movie is another slice of italian zombie craziness for the late 70s/early 1980s. the film, released in 1979, was directed by marino girolami, and starred italian zombie favorite ian mcculloch.

* kickin in*, an epic 12-minute journey through disco, that patrick cowley recorded in 1978. the song encapsulates the hi-nrg dance music that patrick became known for. it was an * up* sound for the gay disco scene, music that would compliment and sometimes enhance all night dancing. on the flip are two earlier songs produced between 1975-77 featuring basslines by college classmate and studio mate maurice tani. both songs feature patrick narrating erotic gay sex fantasies inspired by san franciscos leather bars, back rooms and bathhouses. these songs show the sleazy side of cowleys slow burning, oozing electronic creations

candido cameron was a cuban percussion maestro who had played with luminaries such as dizzy gillespie, buddy rich and count basie throughout his illustrious musical career which started in 1952. fast forward to 1979 and candido finds himself caught up in the disco boom that had engulfed his adopted new york city. feeling he could add his trademark quick-fire conga and bongo playing to disco s straight 4x4 syncopated rhythm he cut some records with legendary nyc label salsoul. the fruits of this partnership were 2 full length lp s and a handful of 12inch singles that changed the face of underground disco.

finally available on wax, cv313 s classic -lost sequence- culled from the celebrated japan exclusive -live- double cd album released back in 2009. this was lovingly remastered by bazza @ alchemy mastering in london, paying close attention to every finite detail. this master has never sounded so good. on the b side there s a rare live version performed by intrusion at a loft event put on by the good folks over @ little white earbuds. this rare recording was reduced and stripped down, core traces of the original swim inside oceanic bass, and modulating frequencies creating an atmosphere all of its own. this is one for the heads.

the analog music project is a musical act that focus on building a coherent sound stage using only vintage musical instruments. its debut album odyssey features seven original themes, as well as covers from artists such as krafwerk, roy ayres and vangelis.  from electro-bossa to cosmic-swing, the projects revives and reinvents classic genres giving them a modern analog twist. when listening to odyssey, which was developed over two years of hard work, one can hear a fine selection  of exquisite musical instruments.

alex north�s work for ballet, symphony orchestra, television and film continues to stand the test of time almost 25 years after his death. although nominated 15 times for an academy award, it wasn�t until 1986 that he was finally given due recognition when a lifetime achievement oscar was bestowed upon him. but, as this soundtrack lp so amply demonstrates, his pioneering work on streetcar remains one of alex north�s crowning achievements.

lascelles perkins was one of the first stars of the jamaican music scene. studio one�s leading balladeer and one of the most underrated singers from that time. lascelles perkins sang sentimental ballads and he scored massive local hits for coxsone dodd�s studio one label. songs like �lonely moments� and �together forever� other big hits followed �the mighty organ� song as a duet with hortense ellis, alton ellis� sister, �destiny� and a whole catalogue of standards or foreign songs as they were called. lascelles could sing any song, make it seem effortless and at the same time address it in his own unique style.

second release on lan comes from willis himself. delivering three cuts of peaktime ordnance, the bordeaux native shows just why he was picked up by nous disques for a split ep alongside berceuse heroique. immersive opener �expecting myself� juxtaposes waif-like electronics against the lo-fi percussive elements. gradually unfurling as the track progresses, the undulating synth swells coax the listener in while the punchy framework bumps along underneath.

having made his family life a priority for the last three years, picotto was nonetheless busy in the studio, adding to his beyond-extensive catalogue of releases and preparing us for a new salvo of pumping techno, jacking tech-house and quintessential club material.

since it was very hard to grow musically or in any other artistic way in regard of our surroundings, we always had a need to find inspiration somewhere else. things that were a given for some were far fetched and hard to come by. a distant dream. that s why we decided to go forward. a final push to reach the place we wanted to be. a place we can call home.

ok, we are quite slow on releasing records, but here is our next release on film. we stumbled upon the artist on a reseach for a music video - in the end we didn t discover a video director, but denial.of.service, an artist in many fields including music, video and performance art. as he ist active since the early eighties, he was involved in numerous projects, doing productions, remixes and videos for and with artists like david bowie, attrition extrawelt and daf. if you take a closer look on his artistic activity since the early 80ies ever then you will quickly realize there is a whole universe to uncover foald from around this artist. our suggestion: start with this fine ep, featuring a hidden secret artwork that unveils in the dark.

while their debut on mysterious downtown romeo records was dominated by lovesickness packed in soulful garage dubs, this time pt/b reflect on lapse and transience - boiled down to three dark and plain rave anthems.

french composer and multi-instrumentalist pierre bastien delivers the latest entry into morphines increasingly diverse catalog. active for over four decades, bastien is best known for building automated orchestras, and his most recent lp, machinations, was released on aphex twin s rephlex label in 2012.
for this latest work, bastien recycled components of his silent motors live set and assembled new mechanical organisms�using amplified meccano parts, motors, fans, rattles, paper, and nails�to generate rhythmic scaffolding. live instrumentals, from prepared trumpets to the african kundi harp, javanese rabab, sanza, electric harpsichord, bass, drums, and gongs, were then superimposed on top.

felix dickinson and jaime read met in brighton in 1995 when jaime was producing music for felix�s label ugly music. united by a love of chicago house music they held a 5 yr residency together in their hometown brighton. during this time jaime continued to make music for felix�s label as well as on his own label push 2 shove under the moniker lhas (the larry heard appreciation society). they soon found homes for their tracks on doc martin�s wax records, the belgian label eskimo and felix�s new label cynic music. more recently they have released tracks for tsuba and rong as lhas inc. there is a remix by neville watson. you may know him for his work with kink or his releases on clone and creme.
